A game for the ages. This is a special crew and they showed a ton of character.

Some of y'all on this board need to spend some time in quiet reflection and/or flog yourselves mercilessly to atone for your sins of fandom. I know everyone expresses frustration differently, but there was some pretty lame posts from non trolls in the first half. I mean it's EWU football, no lead is safe!

Agreed. This is the playoffs and every team we play is going to damn good or they wouldn’t still be playing.

Congratulations to Coach Best on his very first HC playoff win!

Good start to the playoff's. Nicholls was who they were, a team with gumption that could provide a wake up call to a more gifted Eastern squad. I think the ref crew was from another conference, but don't know for sure. They were a test of patience for the team as well.

Wanted to see a well prepared team to start the game but eventually saw a team well prepared to handle adversity. Simply put, this isn't a one dimensional team and can win games in a lot of ways.

The perfect result is a win without further injury. It doesn't get any easier and Eastern will need a couple of lucky bounces. Here's to making our own luck.

Aside from a couple of douche nozzles, have learned to enjoy the occasional meltdown on the board during games.

Song of the game, in honor of our fallen foe and team adherents alike

I know that playoff attendance is always considerably lower than the regular season but let’s get more butts in seats next weekend. There was not enough support today.

I’ll address the elephant in the room. QB play was not great today, particularly accuracy. Yes there were some drops but most of the throws seemed to be low and at the legs of the receivers. Having a running game is awesome but if we ever have to rely on EB to win a game with his arm that needs to improve. He just seemed off today.

Totally agree with you FormerEag. After the UM game last year when some of the dumbasses on this forum behaved at the egriz level, I quit reading the game Day Threads. JasonEWU is especially douchey.

The poor throws all had very minimal footwork. He didn't step in, often threw off back foot and the left leg/hip was locked which had the effect of making the throws low and short. He has a big arm and can get away with poor form sometimes. The concern is having an opponent realize they can jump these shallow patterns. He did throw a few deep balls to back them off. You are absolutely right that it is something he and his coaches should address. I've said all along, he should just step in and let it rip despite WR drops due to velocity. I do think he's developed a bad habit because of feedback in practice but that's speculation.

During the first half a lot of people were sitting, but many more were up and yelling in the second half.

Respect. My favorite "pick" of the game.

His throwing motion was the issue. I think that’s probably coachable to an extent because there have been other times during the season where he’s dropped dimes.
