Post season seeding... Optimistically speaking!

As of righ now, I feel pretty good about where we sit. This team still has lots of potential. With UNC losing twice in as many games, I feel that they loss two or more games. If we can win out(being optimistic) we could possibly claim the 2nd seed. First round bye, and be sitting ok going into the BSC tourney. However, what if both Montana and UNC slip and we all tie for first place. Unlikely, yes. Possible, even more so. With the tie breakers the way they are now, it's going to be tough to host. However, winning out looks impressive and anything can happen in the BSC tourney. Realistically we have a good chance at the 3rd spot. Which is a home game, and that would be nice. I still think that if we sweep this week. We control our destiny!! I love the fight in these kids!!!

If - and thats a pretty big if - Weber wins out, there is a chance that the Cats could host, but along with winning out they would need some help. I watched a bit of the game last night, and I couldn't believe how out of sync UNC looked. NAU didn't do anything special. They played their game and got a W.

Anyway, back to the tourny. Yeah, hosting would be very surprising, ending up in the 2nd slot wouldn't be as surprising, but I'm figuring Weber will end up in 3rd and host a game. Even if Weber beats UM the Cats would need the Grizz to lose two more times, which I don't think will happen. I think they end the season with 3 loses.

UNC at the NAU game looked like Weber did at UNC: the second game of a road trip. After losing to the ats in the last second, they had to fly to Phoenix and take the 2.5 hour bus ride to Flagstaff. Playing at 7000+ feet saps most athletes, and their sots did not fall and they looked tired. Been there!

With UNC going on the road to MT and MSU next week, by the end of the week the seeding should be a lot more clear.

Agreed... Weber can really make up some ground in the next couple of weeks. If Weber can take care of business at home and then go on the road and pull off a couple of W's (Weber's road games are against Eastern, who is playing better, ISU, and SAC, both dangerous at home) then the Cats will be in a great position. To win the Sky or even get 2nd, they will need some help. Beating UM and State this week would be a great start.

Frankly, to win it, they'd need a TON of help. Here's the big issue: Even if UM were to lose 3 times including a loss tonight in Ogden, it's almost certain that Weber would lose the tie-break to Montana, because it would probably come down to a consideration of the MSU game, and UM already has swept them. The only likely scenario in which it wouldn't come down to the MSU game is if UNC beats Montana in Missoula. On the surface, that would help Weber since that would give them the tie-break over UM. However, then you'd probably lose a tie-break to UNC. Second in the conference is a little more likely.

Let's just simplify things and have Montana beat Weber tonight!! 8-)

Most of us are hoping for a 2nd or 3rd place finish, Montana isnt likely to lose a whole lot of games, but UNC still has a tough road ahead and if we can win out we might be able to slip past them but we'll have to see, tonight is all that matters though.

Uh no, lets not have Montana beat Weber tonight.

Yeah, I mis-spoke. Weber would need a ton of help to win the conference. I'm thinking 2nd or 3rd is the most likely scenario. As for tonight....GO CATS!!
