Per the article, Cornish nailed four FGs of longer than 40 yards, a school record. In fact, those four represented one more 40+ FG than the Hornets have made in the previous three seasons COMBINED. Wow. Have we really been suffering for THAT long?!?
Cornish also covered for a rare KO coverage breakdown with a touchdown-saving tackle. Nine of his ten KOs made the end zone, and the one that didn't was one that reached the two after a false start call. His first FG set a personal best at 48 yards.
THAT is one impressive day! This is a well-deserved award.
