Seven Weber State University football players were accorded pre-season all-America honors by the Consensus Draft Services. KYLE MUTCHER (6-3, 300 Sr. Offensive Center / Park City, Utah) was named First Team. TREVYN SMITH (5-9, 210 Sr. Running Back / Springville, Utah) was named to the Second Team. Earning Honorable Mention honors were CAMERON HIGGINS (6-2, 210 Jr. Quarterback / Hawai’i Kai, Hawai’i), KEVIN LINEHAN (6-3, 255 Sr. Defensive End / Los Alamitos, California), JOSH MORRIS (6-0, 185 Sr. Cornerback / Ada, Oklahoma), CODY NAKAMURA (6-1, 230 Sr. Tight End / Wailuku, Hawai’i) and TIM TOONE (5-10, 175 Sr. Wide Receiver / Peoria, Arizona). ... The honors are the first of the year for the Wildcats. All seven players mentioned above earned all-America honors following the 2008 season. ... Smith and Higgins are among the top players in NCAA Division I FCS for the 2009 season vying for the Walter Payton Award (offensive player of the year), while Linehan and Morris are in the mix for the Buck Buchanan Award (defensive player of the year.
