Wanted to get this up early. I believed at the beginning of the season Richmond would be the cream of the CAA. Injuries and a couple of hiccups put James Madison in the drivers seat; but this is a talented group and they will give Eastern it's best shot.

Despite our injuries at LB, believe the toughness up front can keep the Spiders from running all over us and controlling the clock aka CP has done in the past. Our new ball control passing offense can work in the defenses favor but would like to see a couple of quick strikes to take the wind out of Richmond's sails. They do have to travel again this week into a hostile weather and Inferno environment. Hard to win consistently on the road in these big games.

Regardless of Cooper's contribution this week, we have too many weapons and hopefully have gotten the stupid out of the playcalling to keep the chains moving and put points on the board every possession. Pressure, pressure and more pressure on their offense to keep up will create opportunities for 3 TO's and an eventual pull away win for the Eags. Defense has a workman like day, holding Richmond to under 350 yds; a couple hundred on the ground.

Interesting video done before the UND game by Richmond about the injuries and adversity. This team believes and their young QB likes to sling it... This matchup favors the Eags.

The team. The team. The team.

Injuries, distractions, weather... The team will put all of this aside and light up the Inferno.

EWU - 44
Richmond - 20

Hey Eagles Fans,

I've stayed away from most fan forums after UND's loss last weekend. Blowing that lead, in that fashion stung a lot! It would have been a lot of fun to see a true Big Sky Championship game. But it is what it is. For UND fans, its onto next season.

Best of luck to Eastern Washington the rest of the way. Bring it home for the Big Sky!

I think the defense is peaking at the right time. The offense is solid as usual, though we need to get a better start early. Seems overall, we have a tough time getting moving.

Richmond has already exceeded expectations with their MASH unit of a team. They are playing without any pressure. They can sling it, take chances, and with a little luck and the ball bouncing the right way could absolutely make it a game.

That being said, I think this Eagles team is as focused as ever, and continues to never get rattled. I'd love to see some of our defensive starters get back in the game. But our depth this year is unreal!

I think the weather will be a factor for both teams, and will be uncharacteristically low scoring for an EWU game.

Richmond fan here. There is no doubt this will be a tough game for the Spiders. Our team has the heart, but I am not certain they can match the Eagles in either a shoot out or a slug fest (being realistic)

Welcome, Stonewall! In the playoffs, anything can happen. On paper...and to the eye test (at least from watching EWU) I think the Eagles are a better team. But, as you may know, quite a few distractions this week and arguably the best player on O and on D are questionable. Also, the weather...cold and snowy. Not sure if that benefits one team or the other.

I'm going with...

Eags - 35
Spiders - 21

Richmond graduate. EW with two players of the year and that stunning red rug. Competing with the #2 seed at home is a privilege for the little private school from the south. Enjoy Saturday!

Cranked up for this game. Have appreciated Richmond the past couple of years and after watching the UND game like the way Johnson slings the rock around (not sure what Atlanta school he came out of, lots of talent in the area)

See this like NAU and UCA, shut down their top receiver, maintain the edge to contain on defense and let the offense put all the pressure on Richmond to keep up. Despite all the distraction and slow starts this season, the team is ready to explode on someone early and this match up favors the Eag's. Interestingly, it is obvious most poster's are feeling the same way. Richmond falls behind early and Johnson gets careless leading to a couple of TO's. All smiles.

Glad to have Coach B and staff for another week.
