Short and sweet. Avoid injury, see who steps up against a top tier program in UW..

One word: Maturation. These players know what it takes having seen the run last year, now they have to embrace the on field reality of that knowledge. Wins are not a given, they must be earned. The team is competitive and excited to measure up.

Think the elite coaching staff at UW will have them ready to face EWU and not looking past us at Cal week 2. If the DL can get to Eason, the defensive backfield may have a good day creating TO's. Expect Peterson to keep our first year DC and OC guessing.

UW 36 - Eagles 24

Would love to see Eastern score 35 or more points. Think it would give the Eag's a real shot at winning the game. Fully expect the defense to slow UW down. UW will make their hay on the ground at 4+ yards a carry with some play action and can see Eag safeties and young corners making some plays with a TO or 2 with a few penalties to keep UW drives going. Not expecting a score fest with both teams living behind their OL's. Could be a slobber knocker. Sure as hell don't want to see a TT repeat.

Ommmmmm….. Ommmmmm… Ommmmmmmm…

One of the biggest reasons FBS teams beat FCS teams is simply a matter of depth. That depth translates into more competition on the team for playing time and fresher bodies as a season progresses. Eastern is one of the few FCS programs that has a legitimate 2 deep. The team is primed and ready. Coaches have taken care to keep players healthy during camp and like every year, they are tired of hitting each other and ready to hit someone else. Eastern has a chance in this game and beating a top 20 team would be AWESOME. Go Eags!

App State did it back in the day, I believe we have the magic to pull off a similar miracle I'm feeling magic and will probably be let down. ;)
