Prediction Thread Wk 10 ISU @ Eastern

What is there left to say about the make up of the Eagles squad? Tough, talented and focused. SPECIAL.

ISU looked pretty good against Montana last week. That is as polite as I can be. This one won't be close, although we haven't really run up the score on anyone.

Break out running day for Eagles as McPherson, Custer, Wilson, Pierce and Gubrud have 50 carries for over 250 yards to go with the 15 for 17 passing 350 yards for Gubrud.

Defense has field day getting after the QB and locking down the WR's of ISU. 3 TO's minimum.

Eags 59 - ISU 17

we scored 63 on Davis, but agreed we probably could have run up the score on some teams and haven't. if we get a comfortable lead, no way will Baldwin run it up on Kramer. too much respect there. I will go with something along the lines of:

Eagles-45
Bengals-31
 
Our offense has sputtered at times over the last 2-3 wins. We need to take it to another level over the next two to get ready for the playoffs. Defense has been greatly improved. I look for them to Keep ISU under 24.

Eags 59
Bengals 20
 
Sense everyone is feeling it would be good to get off to a fast start with a quick 35 in the first quarter and half. Guess if that happens we could see 2-3 deep in on defense early too. No predictions for trash time scores, but would love to see us shut them down all four quarters. Now it's the waiting game.

I do think the Bungles will put up a good fight the 1st half. Our defense will slow them down.
2nd half all Eagles ... again.
 
Like what Baldwin said about how players attack their roles...not just accept their roles. Attack!

Is this the end for Kramer? I don't follow him or ISU but he hasn't even been able to get them to being a .500 team consistently.

I was not impressed with that isu secondary against Montana. I expect Gubrud to have another big game. I know ISU has given us fits before, but we aren't playing in their barn. Eagles roll 56 to 28.

I had this same thought and went and looked at their board the other day and I would say he is safe for a couple of reasons....1st he has another year on his contract that pays him big bucks so unless someone can bail them out that is not going to happen. Secondly it looked like they had some type of sanctions that they had been working through with less scholarships so he basically had to drive the ship through the mess and to let him go without having a fair shack would not be a good thing. I do think his seat is HOT and that him not having a contract will really hurt recruiting for the school so who knows. :coffee:

Like you, checked their board, he seems to be liked. Didn't pick up on the sanctions thing. Those are always hard to overcome. Our own depth is so good, it's easy to forget not every team has that advantage. Still a lot of 1-7 or worse in the BSC. Didn't mean to move the conversation from predictions to coaching status. Eags win... BIG ;-)

yep, and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. Can't say I was impressed. A old acquaintance of mine is now a prof there... the funny part is he moved from Atlanta to Pocatello and... wait for it... he's British. :lol: Anyway, not my sort of place, but guess it works for some. BTW, Cheney isn't necessarily a garden spot.. windy, cold/hot, dusty. Red Field makes it a lot prettier though. ;-)
 
EWU shouldn't have too much issues sending the Seniors off this year with a resounding W.

ISU has put up big numbers on lots of teams, I don't that is the case here in Cheney with the way this team has been playing.
