Haven't seen Northern Colorado play this season. They lost to the two good teams they played, SUU and Weber, and beat Sac St by 7. Greeley is 4600 ft above sea level so West should be able to throw one out there about 72 yds in the air :-). Don't expect problems with elevation, but the OL hasn't looked great with hands on hips early in several games may not bode well from a conditioning perspective.

Looking for defense to take another step forward this week, slow down the run and make UNC throw the ball into coverage. Offense runs the ball better and 3rd, 4th and 5th receivers actually work to get open and make spreading the field a reality. West has BIG day over 400 yards and 5 TD's.

Weather: about 40-45 game time, no rain or snow per Accuweather. Want to see some images that may encapsulate this game.

Eags 55 - UNC 24

Eags WIN!

I think the game starts out fast but once again our D figures NC out as the game processes. Jabari and Jalen continue to pound and combine for 150 yds and 2 TD's. West throws for 400 and 3 TD's. We get one more TD again on ST or D. Eags 52 Bears 27.

Mine is superstition every time :x I make a prediction we lose even if I pick us to lose it happens..

I'll take Eastern by 10-14 in a game that shouldn't be so close, but invariably is...

UNC is 4-2. Weird Big Sky this year. My read is that the conference just isn't all that good this year.

Northern Colorado has been pedestrian on offense this season, so it is important for the defense to show improvement. A bad defensive showing in this one would be alarming.

I stopped making predictions after the first two games because we lost both of them. Since I stopped, we have won all our games So...yeah. Go Eags

Oddly, my record mirrors Easterns perfectly... Give us your take on the UNC without a prediction :-)

Dopa...I'll take Eastern by 10-14 in a game that shouldn't be so close, but invariably is...

Hope you are wrong here Dopa, agree with the notion a poor defensive showing would be alarming. Where I struggle is, what makes a poor showing? Going to discount the "stats" and go with D has been getting a lot more stops this season and has gotten key stops a few times, but the whole team concept is in flux. I am looking for a better mesh between defensive and offensive effort; get a stop, turn it into points and keep pressure on opposing offenses by the play of both sides of the ball. With two new coordinators, there is definitely more growing pain then anticipated, but it probably makes sense. Real opportunity this week.

I think the defense is as healthy as it has been since week one. I expect them to be flying around and putting pressure on the QB. I'm not worried about scoring points. EWU 42-17

I use the eye test and then trust what I see. When I look at an opposing team and see a lack of size, strength, and speed and then see us struggle against that team when we have a far better players, I say that is a poor showing. Sac State, for example, was a s bad as it gets. Beating them by 8 was a bad performance. Even Montana State was one great QB away from being terrible, and we looked awful and almost lost. I didn't even see much for UNI.
However, I look at some of these other FCS teams --- Illinois State and JMU are two that come to mind--- and I see a lot of talent. Eventually, we'll have to play a team like that.

Not disagreeing. Per my eye, EWU has been the superior team on the field in every contest except Oregon. Lots of possibilities as to the issue; injuries, leadership, coaching, execution, penalties, focus, schedule, etc... Just looking for progress through PSU and think there has been as everyone finds themselves in their roles coaching and otherwise.

Ill. St, Jax St are my favorites. JMU hasn't beaten anyone yet and will be tested against Richmond this weekend.(full disclosure, as a GT fan, Vad Lee isn't high on my list. He left GT to play against inferior athletes, pure and simple)

The only way the Eagles will score more than 50 is if NC is also running up the score because it is not Baldwin's style to run up a score on a lesser opponent. He will be substituting a lot to gain experience for more players if the Eagles are in control of the game.
I think our starters can hold a lead of 30-10 by half and subs finish the game with a final score of 45-24

I think we handle Northern Colorado comfortable, but do not manage to shut them out of the game.

42-27, Good guys.
