Does Eastern care if it finishes 7-5 and out of the playoff's or 6-6 and out of the playoff's? At home on the Inferno seems to be a good place to be after a near miss last week on the road at CP. Massey agrees picking Eastern to win by 11 points with an 81% confidence margin.

PSU is rolling in on a 3 game losing streak, 2 at home. Of course, using transitive properties, they did beat the rising power in Moscow 24 - 0... So does Eastern stand a chance?

Not "feeling" to comfortable about this one. PSU has athlete's and is capable of putting together a good game. If Eastern turns the ball over 3+ times, this one will not be close. Last week, there were definitely times when the playcall came in you could see EB3 physically shrink in on himself. Not once when it happened did the offense execute the play. I don't f***ing know what's going on there.

Tale of the tape, D's are about the same; EWU's offense should have a field day. Throw the records out, if Eastern's players remember, what I thought were a ton of cheap shots last year that sidelined several players, Eag's grind them into the turf. Go Eags! Finish!

EWU 55 - PSU pisses down it's leg. (38)

Our defense will have to perform much better this week than last or this game will not end favorably.
Cal Poly averaged 24.9 points per game which includes 52 points vs San Diego in the first game of the season, excluding that game they only averaged 21.7 ppg,
We gave up 41 points!
If we give PSU 16 points more than their season average (34) they will score 50 this game.

Despite last week's near disaster, I saw a quarterback in EB3 who looks to be 100% healthy and confident and an offense as explosive as I've ever seen at EWU. I think they finish strong and set a good foundation for what will be a magical 2020.

EWU - 61
PSU - 31

You're not wrong. Math skills CHECK. :) Without the 3 TO's last week D gives up ~31? Over 40 minutes on the field didn't help either. D has to play a little better, I thought it was the penalties that extended drives that made for a longer day than necessary. No TO's and fewer penalties should go a long way to making this a W. Am I asking the team to go against type? Maybe.

Last year, we beat Cal Poly by 53... this year we beat them by 1. I guess that makes us about 52 points worse than last year.

Last year, we beat Portland State by 51. Using my logic, PSU wins by 1.

LDopa, we both know these comparatives are not realistic or reasonable but interesting to look at. Given the home field advantage and hoping the Cal Poly game will be a wake up call for this weekend I will attend the final game in honor of the outstanding efforts of our seniors for 5-6 years.
Eagles by 3 scores.

Yeah. That was sarcasm.

However, it is interesting to look at the fact we were blowing through teams last year that suddenly give us all sorts of problems now.

I would expect Eastern to beat Portland State, but I’d have also expected Eastern to bomb Cal Poly, which didn’t happen. Portland State has shown well at times this season, so a lot will depend on whether they come to win or just mail it in. Last year in Portland, PSU pretty much mailed it in. Hence the 74 points we dropped on them.

All fair points, but we are a MARKEDLY better team at home this year than we are on the road. Look at our margins of victory at home as compared to our W/L on the road. I think we'll win this game handily.

EWU 45 PSU 27

Let's see common opponents scores;

EWU 27 vs Idaho 35
PSU 24 vs Idaho 0

EWU 48 vs Idaho st 5
PSU 24 vs Idaho st 51

EWU 66 vs NAU 38
PSU 39 vs NAU 41

EWU 17 vs Montana 34
PSU 23 vs Montana 38

Idaho/ISU a push only bassackwards
NAU another push a lotta pts.
Montana another push
Both teams stong at home and not away

EWU is at home so victory is at hand and I see pts in an exciting victory.
EWU favored by 14 pts and over under 72

EWU 45 vs PSU 30

Analysis overload...

Last years game was chippy and we lost three starters to injury in it (Prunty, Williams, Fettig)....I think we absolutely destroy PSU this year and just put it on them

correction: we won by one, Cal Poly beat us.

Last Saturday Eagles got the big stop when they had to. We didn't block the three point guaranteed winning field goal, but it went wide. Against PSU, I'm expecting to see a start strong, finish strong Eagle win with lots of points, a hot Inferno and some physical revenge.

I think Eastern is miles better in Cheney than on the road; that's been proven over and over again this year. But to note how Eastern's D got one stop without noting how many stops the D didn't get is misleading. The defense looked like hot garbage against a very average offensive team. This team just seems to lack the ability to play 60 full minutes, and it looks like the team just physically falls apart under pressure. Eastern's team has plenty of talent, but the toughness just doesn't seem to be there this year. It's sort of funny because last year's team was crazy physical, and the roster hasn't changed all that much. This year just seems to have gone in a different direction.

Hopefully the guys are ready to finish strong. 7-5 looks a helluva lot better than 6-6.

Seniors Have Combined for 37 Victories and a 26-5 Big Sky Record in the Last Four Seasons

Eastern has yet another special group of seniors, and for the second-straight year, will honor at least 20 this week against Portland State. The 20 seniors, including several who are candidates to receive sixth years and return in 2019, have helped Eastern go 37-14 overall (72.5 percent) and 26-5 (83.9 percent) in Big Sky Conference play in the last three-plus seasons. Eastern's particularly large group of 27 seniors honored a year ago was reduced to 25 when Spencer Blackburn and Kaleb Levao each received a sixth year to complete four years of eligibility at EWU.

May Eastern's football Stars all be in perfect alignment for the coming contest. Since it goes without saying, I won't even mention the possibility of 100% individual/team discipline that would preclude any Eagle penalties or Eagle turnovers contributing to a big win. Intel is whispering that Saturday's game may not be the final game of our 2019 season. Thank you to all our revered Team Seniors, and good luck wherever your dreams and preparations may take you.

60s Savage, you mentioned "Intel is whispering that Saturday's game may not be the final game of our 2019 season". Do you speak with forked tongue?
