Grit. This one is going to take grit. Montana coming off a tough loss on the road, Eastern coming off a bye and needing to get healthy. Both fan bases are excited about this one. On another thread Clawman has a nice breakdown of some of the season stats and I have to agree that the 12 more penalties on the Eagles is a disturbing trend that is likely to have a negative impact on a game that should be a close one.

This will be a single TD game unless one side has significantly more TO's or penalties. Unfortunately, that seems to be in Eastern's court. Won my final season match in a tough 2 setter that contributed to our team locking up the Division and a playoff spot. So far this season, it hasn't gone well for the Eagles when that happens. These things are completely not related to each other :)

Massey has it:
E Washington 34 Montana 42
25 %-75 %

This is right in line with my thoughts after watching the Griz last week. Who shows more grit?

I'm going with Eastern 42 Montana 38

Eastern has 9 penalties but 3 takeaways and 5 stops.

Go Eags!

I know some on this board aren't stoked on Best and this current iteration of Eagles (staff and players) but say what you will about our leader I know one thing to be true - he gets this game. And this game means more. And I used the word leader with purpose because I believe he will lead this team out there on Saturday with one thing on their mind - to remind Montana where the Big Sky runs through. And it aint Misosula anymore.

I don't know how the rest of the reason will play out, but I hope that the players who have been around for a few years intend to continue the domination over Montana. And I believe they will. I'm expecting full fire intensity in all phases of the game. Sure the defense will bend, but it will not break. What will break, however, is the spirit of Montana.

EWU - 47
Montana - 23

Well said GreatDayToBeAnEagle. I believe the EAGS will play their best game of the season, and come out of Missoula with a win.

We will will (mental powers manifested as wishing, choosing, desiring, or intending) win this game.
As healthy as we can be to this point and coaches have had enough time to figure out what it's going to take to get the desired result. EWU will will (used to express inevitability) knowing this is indeed win or season is shot. They fight to the end of this one and leave winners.

EWU 36 vs UM 32

I'd be willing to give odds the Sneed starts the game. I'm sure UM's trainers will find a way to get him on the field. I still have doubts about Eastern's trainers... our injuries just seem to take far longer, and I really have no idea why. Take that for what it is... just one opinion based on several years of anecdotal evidence.

Honestly, I'll be pleasantly surprised if Eastern wins. I just don't like what I've seen so far, and I'm not sure a week off can fix our issues. We'll see if Montana flatlines after Sac State like we did after Jax State. Hope so.

Eastern wins 4,782.7 to -18.

Agree with you about Best.. something to think about as well. All those changes happened LATE. When you make runs like we do people are going to want what you got. Nothing against them, but options are limited at that point with our budget and you aren't going to strike gold every time.
