Predictions EWU 21 @ UND 14 Defense wins in ND

In this transition season, Eastern continues to find unique mixtures of penalties, 3 and outs and TO's to beat themselves.

Actually believe Eag's are out to the playoff's at this point, so would like the coaches to focus on having fun on the field. Let EB air it out to Grady, Webster and Jones or backs underneath with an attack the edge mentality on runs (which has been there most games this season). Defensively, this will be a challenge no matter how you slice it. After running the chicken with the head cut off defense last week, I don't expect any improvement without Calhoun. Not saying there isn't effort.

Everyone has their axe to grind on various aspects this season from schedules, effort, scheme, TO's etc... Going to put this one in the rear view mirror as the "transition" season.

UND works to salvage their horrible season at home agains Eags

Everyone consumed by the GG/Calhoun story. Surprised it hasn't happened sooner with all the transitions this year. Tough changes for all these young men. Know that I never handled change well at their age and drank way too much.

Have no feel for EB except he has a BIG arm. Prepared to change my thoughts on the upcoming contest if Webster et al can stretch the field and EB can drop it in the bucket. Can EB drop it in the bucket?

What say you? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_4-rCROcsM

So, no predictions on the outcome of this game. I don't care for UND as turncoats of the conference and think that their absolutely horrible season is well deserved. Would love to see our team come out and put a 50 spot on them.

Another note CWU is 10-0 with Hennessey and they play the second place team this weekend which will be on ESPN3. Caught part of their last game on ESPN3 and Reilly was incredible down the stretch. Anyway, hope they have enough horses at CWU to take it all the way to a championship.

The question that needs to be answered is whether the last few weeks have taken our heart. If it has, then we probably have to experience a train wreck to end the season. If our guys show the guts we'd expect from Eastern players, these last two games really aren't that difficult. If you could have a perfect schedule for knowing you need two wins to end a season, UND and Portland State are good options.

As a "look at the bright side" angle, at least the Gubrud/Calhoun story has taken the focus off the fact we've lost two in a row and have no more outs besides winning. Can we beat UND without those two guys? I think we can and should; it would be a major letdown to lose. UND has really been struggling.

I'm going off of memory, but I don't think we've ever lost to UND before. That said, our record in domes is quite poor. Maybe a dome is a good place for Barriere to take over as he won't have much in terms of environmental issues to deal with.

EB3 is gonna ball out and we're going to begin Quarterback Controversy 2017.

Eags 45
F'ing Hawks 31

That would be a great way to end the season to be honest. Strong competition and end with some W's.

What is 1 key to this game for you?
Mine is receivers have to get open and catch the ball when it gets there.
Coming into this season I thought we had some guys that could get the job done but after the last two games I have to say I'm disappointed in their impact on the season.
Eric needs them to do their job today.
What is your key?

I'd agree. Receivers have to step up. Having some semblance of a running game, even if it's Eric taking off, is important. Defensively, we have to stop the run and force them to chuck it down the field. And coverage must improve from last week.

"improve" being a key word. The Eagles are not showing improvement as a team. This is one of the closest losses UND has had this season.
UND receivers are as bad as our receivers or we would have lost this game. They dropped a number of key throws that stopped drives, and protected the Eagles lead.
IMO we were lucky (based on UND mistakes) to win.
