Predictions EWU 28 @ SUU 46

Wow! SUU is a mixed bag of tricks this season. I always expect them to be tough and going into their stadium for a late afternoon game is a coin flip. Beating Weber and NIU this year is a pretty good indication they can play ball.

Eastern is putting it all together at the right time of the season but this is a tough run of games to close the season. Hope we aren't looking past SUU.

No sense of where the offensive yards are going to come from and expect the passing game to be key to get a win on the road as SUU is usually pretty tough up front. Loved the push from OL in running game and know we will try to do so again this week. GG will probably need to get on his horse to make a couple of key plays to keep drives going.

The diversity in the offense should bring a W. The defense has shown real flashes and continues to get stops and TO's this week. So many players have seen time on D, EWU can legitimately field a starting 2 deep. Avoid drive ending penalties and get off the field on long 3rd downs and this one is in the bag. Easier said than done.

EWU 38 - SUU 27

I'm as nervous for this one as I was going into Missoula. I believe EWU is the better team, but SUU always plays us tough in Cedar City. I think it was 2012 when they knocked us off when we were ranked #1....

I'm not necessarily concerned with us overlooking them. I think the combination of them beating Weber last week in Ogden and that we have a bye after this game, will keep the team focused on this game only. I do think the guys will need to take care of the ball. If they turn it over 2 or 3 more times, I'm not sure that they can escape with another win.

I'm going Eags in another nail biting, down to the very end game with EWU scoring a late TD to put it out of reach.

EWU 35 - T-Birds 27.

I'd feel a lot better about this game if it wasn't played in Cedar City. SUU is such a different team when they play at home. I'd like to say that we should catch them coming off an emotional high after their Weber victory, but who knows?

I think Eastern is the more talented team in this one, but by less of a margin than we've seen over the last few weeks. This is no gimme by any stretch. More than likely, it'll boil down to who simply comes more ready to play. Turnovers must be kept to a minimum, and we need to force stops on defense. I'd suspect SUU will try to shorten the game the same way Montana State did.

Eek... Kind of an ominous piece by the Spokesman Review: http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2017/oct/16/thunderbirds-become-relevant-in-big-sky-title-chas/

Still, I would say that EWU pulls this one off.

EWU 42
SUU 28

SUU also got trucked by Suc St.
However EWU has struggled @ SUU in the past. I'm guessing this will be a close one with EWU pulling it out; some way, some how.

EWU: 38
SUU: 35

We haven't come close to playing our best. We will get better and better and Sat. we get better which is bad news to SUU. They gave up 54 pts. to Sac State and barely beat a winless Cal Poly team at home 20-14? They are gonna think they are playing Oregon's offense again when they let them score 77 on them. Sorry, not that worried (well sorta)...48-33 EWU.

SUU has always been a team, that gets my attention; ever since 2012, then they broke our hearts in Cedar City.

I wouldn't look too much into last week's game, though. Weber lost their QB early, and that changes the tempo of any game. I think this was also a rivalry game for them, and we all know how those go. PSU is currently 0-6, yet, I'm sure they will make to a tough and close game when we play them in a few weeks. I don't know how they can get destroyed by Sac State, then barely sneak by Cal Poly.

I'm going with a BIG win in Cedar City- 49-14.

Can't wait to see a complete game tomorrow. SUU won't roll over, but the Eagle tsunami is an irresistible force.

Predictions:
2 TO's caused by Defense
150 yds rushing
350 yds passing
5 for 6 in the redzone with 4 TD's
4-6 big plays (still waiting on Dorton to return one all the way)

Result... Eagle victory on the field, mind and soul.
