Predictions for Lillard

I know its still early, but with the lottery yesterday Damian is one step closer to the draft. What are your predictions as to which team Lillard will go to?

I think it would be cool to see him go to the Hornets and play with the no one pick, Davis, but I would like to see him go earlier than the 10 spot too. I checked out some post lottery mock draft sights and they have him going anywhere from the 6th pick to the 11th.

I'd like him to go to the Jazz, just so I had a reason to cheer for the Jazz again, but I wouldnt be suprised if he ended up at Golden State, the Hornets or even the Suns

If in fact he ends up as a lottery selection, there is little to no hope that the Jazz will end up with him, unless they set up a miraculous trade. I wouldn't be surprised if he stays in Oakland. Other possibilites could be New Orleans and Portland. If he isn't taken in the first 12 I'd be shocked. Only hope for the Jazz is if he is still available whenever they come up.

Since they only have the 47th pick currently that isn't going to happen. I read a article today that said he could be a top 5 pick :thumb: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...-which-surprise-prospect-will-go-in-the-top-5

Top 5 would be sweet, top 10 is just amazing. I can't say it too many times, it was a pleasure to watch Damian play at WSU. I can't wait for draft night.

This mock has him going 8th to Toronto:

"Having seen one of Lillard's workouts in Oakland, Calif., recently, I can almost guarantee that he'll be impressing a lot of people as he continues to make the rounds before the draft. He'll have to work his way up draft boards to overcome the doubts about coming from the mid-major Big Sky Conference. He has a great motor and underrated athleticism, he is a creative and reliable scorer, and he would give Toronto's offense some punch as part of the team's possible post-Jose Calderon plan (the veteran point guard has one year left on his contract, worth $10.6 million). The Raptors are looking to upgrade that offense, which ranked 29th in points per possession, so Syracuse's Dion Waiters or one of the many other top-notch shooting guards will be worth considering. If the Raptors wind up going that direction, it wouldn't speak well of their view of third-year shooting guard DeMar DeRozan after his production slipped this season."

The Jazz have other tradeable Assets, besides players, including multiple trade exceptions. I will not be surprised if Utah decides to trade some of these to get Lillard.

The Jazz need a PG, & a 3 pt. threat desperately. They know more than anybody, with Lillard they get both.

The Jazz know what kind of a quality person they're getting with Dame, which is always huge with the Jazz. One of the biggest issues for the Utah front office are players wanting to play in Utah after initial expiring contracts. Lillard is very loyal, & loves Utah, & would be much more likely to stick around than many others.

The Jazz have a lot of options for trade material. I'm sure that they will consider many options to get what they want and need. These things have to work both ways, however, and the team that gets Dame may not want to trade him or may not want what the Jazz have to offer. Trades have to make sence for both parties. Draft day is always a flurry of pre and post pick trades. It is well documented what the Jazz have an abundace of and what their shortcomings are. The Jazz would probably stand a better chance of making a trade for Damian if he were to be picked in the east somewhere. Western teams are less likely to want to see a stronger Jazz team unless what they got in return far out weighed giving him up. :coffee:
