Predictions PSU 33 @ EWU 59 Mega Victorious

Starting the thread early. This is a big week and the playoff's aren't guaranteed even with a win. Would the committee really take 4 teams from the BSC this season? Should Montana win their overall record with their patsy wins is better. NAU and SUU play each other and are the class of the conference and Weber with a win is a lock. I am not a playoff prediction guy, but it isn't looking good for the Eags this season. Something to be said for ending with a 7-4 record though and am all for that.

Can't say I'm a believer in the offense, especially on 3rd and long with either EB3 or GG behind the wheel. Lots of reasons from poor RB and WR play to inconsistent OL blocking. Long season, many key of injuries may have taken it's toll finally. Lot's of room for supposition. We have three playmakers to move the ball downfield in Webster, Grady and Jones... hope we scheme to get them the ball. Custer just did not flow with the zone blocking scheme this past week, would run more guard pulls or TE leads to lead block for him to explode through to the second level. Have said all year McPherson is our best running back, but that injury didn't look good.

Obzerver already stated Eastern wins this game. I'm inclined to agree, but cannot tell you how or why. If EB3 is the starter, he needs to slow the game down. Assume GG will be back at the helm this week if he has done all the right things during his suspension. A week off probably will have done him some good mentally. No TO's and the Eags win.

No one is talking about our Defensive performance last week against a similair powered O in UND. I think we hold them to 17-21 pts and force 3 TOs. I think GG starts but the wildcard will be how TO prone he is. Something EB3 was very good at last week. If GG is on and taking care of the ball Eags blowout 52-17. If not Eags 27-21.

I'm excited to be at the game and honestly would view 7-4 as a "good" season despite last years success.

Hoping for played time from both qb's, no turnovers and a nice win in the range of 42-21

FTV...just not the same but FTV anyways

PSU Took away our playoff chances in 2011 and 2015 by beating us at home, And they should have beat us at home in 2013, we owe them an absolute ass kicking.

It won’t matter who starts, the Vikings are terrible this year, and I think we absolutely route them 52-17

I think we finally see a blow out this week. It's time to exercise the PSU demons.
Eags 45 - PSU 17.
Marijuana is legal in Washington so I assume you are in-state, otherwise I can not imagine how you or anyone would think this team can score more than 1 TD per quarter and that is giving the benefit of many doubts.
We were just held to 21 points to one of the weakest teams in the league. Face it we have not gotten better through the season...we suck!
At this point I am wondering what is going to change next year. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Great post....PSU has been giving us fits...I look for a super close 3 point game..... :kisswink:

You're right because no team has ever improved between years one and two of a new coaching staff and a new system. Certainly no team ever went 6-5 with a new coach then won a national championship two years later.

:ohno:

Fake news!!

Got to agree with this statement, just won't prognosticate that this will be the case next season. The OC was thrown into the role late and playing catch up all season hasn't been fun for anyone. Being a college coach is hard and not just about X's and O's.

Odd's are it's the last game for our seniors and they get to play at home. Hurrah! Looking forward to a win and want to thank them for their dedication, effort and so much of the joy I've experienced watching them play (especially the two playoff win's I was able to attend). Go Eags!

Man, way too much pessimism on this thread. Some of you aren't using the right lens to view the situation. The fact is we aren't a great team this year, but we are a relatively young team and capable of playing great football. Our youth shows up when it comes to our dramatic inconsistencies.

Think about this, we basically lost three starting offensive linemen. Ellison quit before the year, and then we lose a guard and tackle in Meyer and Levao early in the year. Tiuli was probably our best defensive player and didn't make it through two games. We graduated three of the best receivers in our history and, unfortunately, didn't have a lot of quality to replace them. Last week, we had our All-American QB out and our second leading tackler. And we still won. This week, we lose our best offensive performer from last week in McPherson and our most electric player in Dorton.

This season could have been an absolute trainwreck. We've only won two games by any kind of healthy margin. Yet here we are, one week to go, and probably make the playoffs with a seventh win. And we're playing the worst team in the conference at home.

This is not a bad deal for us. I credit our coaches for holding it together despite rough circumstances and stupid, masochistic scheduling.

Would we all like to be 10-0 right now? Of course. But we could very easily be 2-8. And with 13 teams in the Big Sky, it is very likely at least four will be in the playoffs... therefore, the odds are still in our favor.

Another thing to note... if my understanding of how teams finish in the convoluted Big Sky is correct, we'd still finish third with a win and an NAU loss. That would push us into a three way tie with Montana and NAU. None of these teams has a win against the top two teams in Weber and Southern Utah. Montana would have one win (against NAU) and we'd have one win (Montana). NAU would therefore be the fifth team with no wins among those games. We'd be ahead of Montana based on our head-to-head win. It would be awfully hard for the committee to leave the third team in the conference out.

Not sure whether you are the kettle or the pot Dopa, nice to see you get some perspective though. ;)

Still don't think we make the playoff's with a win over PSU having beaten no one except the Griz and Sac St. with winning records. The advantages to missing the playoff's with a 7-4 record seem to be the ability to focus on recruiting, take a breath, decide about any possible coaching changes, make changes sooner than later (if any at all), start the healing process and get back to a lighter routine for the players. Should Eastern make the playoff's, it would be on the road playing the BigSky or MVFC right?

Guessing someone will start a "what needs to happen for next season" type thread when it's all said and done.

This week PSU. Go Eags.

seeing some sweet equational work being done for playoff scenarios...here's my score prediction keeping in mind that in my 6th year I took math 101(seriously). Weber led PSU last week at haltime 49-3. Now, if our offense/defense is half as good as Weber's the score should 24.5 to 6 at half. Figure in Weber was on the road and we are home I'm adding three additional pts., ergo 27.5 to 6 at half. Final was a merciful 63-17 so using my formula (adding a total of 6pts for home field) the final will be 34.5 to 34 EWU wins.

Besides Obzerver putting everyone off their lunch with the condom nose sucking regurgitating gif; the playoff's appear to be within reach for Eastern given early returns. Their future is in their hands. Can't ask for more than that, plus it's on Audible so I don't have to watch our crappy streaming. Go Eags.
