Portland St. just knocked off Washington St. and UM has already taken down North Dakota St. Weber played Oregon St. very tough yesterday. Great start for our conference.

go eags!

Looks good. Watched Ill St get kicked by Iowa today. Missed the end of the SHSU game, but they were in it. Jackrabbits beat Kansas today too.

And SUU was it the whole way against a good USU squad, NAU picks up a comfortable road win against a top 3 or 4 SLC team, Weber was only down 6 in the 4th quarter against the Beav's, and Davis kept it respectable against Reno (Remember when they were "Nevada Reno?" 8-) )

We'll find out a little bit more this week with Montana @ Liberty, PSU @ ISU, us at UNI, and SUU at SDSU.

Yep. No. Iowa got spanked 7 - 31 by Iowa St. They are installing a new up tempo offense and new QB. Think EWU is deep enough on defense to cycle in a lot of players and it should be a good game. It's a 30 hour round trip for me and mine, but we are considering it.

Just watched the WSU v. PSU replay.... SAD. PSU may not win a game in the Big Sky; if they do it could be Northern Colorado Nov 7th. WSU looked hapless.

Might be time to revisit this, because since week 0 and 1, the Big Sky has sort of fallen apart.

OF the projected top 4-- Eastern, Montana State, Montana, and Cal Poly-- no one has more than a single win

Eastern and Montana State have offenses that make them capable of beating anyone, but are so shoddy on defense that both could also get beat by just about anyone. Montana just doesn't appear to have enough athletes. And Cal Poly's success will hinge on whether or not their unique style of option football can get it done in the Big Sky.

Idaho State looks to be far more hype than substance. Portland State is 2-0, but there are a lot of question marks. Is this the year that someone can come from nowhere and get to the top of the conference? I suspect they'll come back to reality during conference play, but as of now, they might be the most complete team on both sides of the ball.

I'm really hoping Eastenr can get through next week against a poor Sac State team and get the win while getting some defensive confidence. Sac State has only scored two TDs in the two games they've played against DI opposition. You'd have to think if there was a week we could gain some momentum on D, this next one would be it. After that, we get a bye week to get healthy and prepare for Cal Poly. I'm hoping we can keep our offensive momentum rolling and improve enough on defense to put together a winner.
