First off, did anyone see Husky AD Scott Woodwards' comment in the Friday Seattle Times that Eastern fans only bought 550 tickets for the game? Whatta friggin liar. There were at least 5000 Eagle fans in attendance. How he could've even got a pass for that comment is absurd.

That said, aside from Eastern fans showing up in good numbers, I thought it was extremely classy of the fans to stay after the game and give the team a standing ovation after their on-field performance. You won't see too many teams that have fans that will give such a positive response even when losing. But the fans were knowledgable, and knew that the team had played valiantly and deserved the applpause (and the win).

I had a couple of Husky fans tell me after the game that they thought the gesture to the team was really cool.

That was my sense of the situation too. BTW, I saw a dude with a little kid who was wearing a shirt with the same logo as your sig. You?

More than likely. I had my 3 yo son with me.

I disagree...turnout by Eastern fans was dismal, just ask the players.

I'm the first to admit Our support sucks but how many did the players count? Dismal is very relative.

Where did you sit?

It seemed like everyone who walked out of tunnels 6 & 8 was wearing red, and there were a lot of red-clad people interspersed with the purple. I went to two different tailgate areas and there were a lot of Eastern people around. I even had some Husky fans tell me we seeemd to have more fans than any other opponent they play sans Oregon and Wazzu.

Bringing 5,000 or so 300 mi away from campus isn't too bad. Hell, that's not far from what we draw on campus, so for tickets that cost 3x and sit in the endzone behind a track, it's not too shabby.

probably because a lot of eagle fans didn't want to sit in the shit seats in the endzone so they bought their own. Not to mention they were easy to come by for much less than face value.

Yeah, agreed....like I said I thought was a good turnout. Tons of Red in the tailgate area which I guess they had to expand twice to accomodate people. I agree it could have been better, I guess, but I guess I expected a few thousand to show up and that's sure what it seemed like to me. Did people expect half of Husky stadium to be EWU fans? Anyway, I think the players have more important shit to worry about than attendance at a road game, like beating South Dakota. As close as this game was, time to put it behind us and focus on beating South Dakota and defending our title. I sure do like our chances.

Hmm I thought we had a nice showing at the game? As was stated could always be better. I did not purchase through the ticket office because I went with some friends in Seattle who are UW fans and sat with them. I heard many comments from the Husky fans about how good our team was and that they were going to be sure to follow the team if we made it back to the playoffs. All and all I thought they were an accommodating bunch for the most part.

Just as an afterthought i believe that the regular season tickets go on sale tomorrow. I plan on getting a bunch for the MSU game but i would recommend people that dont have season tickets start grabbing those tickets up soon because I have a feeling they will go fast.

Wineguy,

Not quite sure what EWU fans you were looking at but there were quite a few red shirts spread throughout the stadium that wasnt in the endzone. I checked with both ticket offices and there were over 4000 tickets sold to EWU fans.. Pretty good if you ask most..:

I can't say I agree with with you comparing EWU fans to Texas high school football. Not even a fair comparison when we all know Texas football at any level is on a diff scale than any where. Either way you seem to be a proud parent and BLM and should be! He's a stud and will continue to make all eat fans proud!

I say BS to this. I, like many others, had tickets from a source OTHER than EWU. There were fans interspersed throughout the stadium. Watched the game again last night. There was noise coming from all over the place when the Eags scored.

This. When you watch the replay you can really hear the Eastern fans after every big play.
