I know I was harsh on this team a few weeks ago after the E. Wash loss. I want to state how proud I am that this young team has fought and battled to finish out this season. Here's to hoping they continue to fight and scratch and show how Weber State Wildcats play football. Go beat the Jacks!

i agree with you, it is a young team with room for improvement. the bottom line is they aren't pros, this is your basic college team with young men playing a sport they love.

I BACK MAC

Gotta love our Wildcats. It's nice having a team that has started to consistently put itself in a position to play in games that really count late in the season. That's leaps and bounds where we used to be. Coach Mac has done a great job in changing the culture and expectations of the team.

With that being said I think the most glaring weakness that we have this year is our lack of playmakers. A lot of people put a lot of pressure on Higgins shoulders to make plays and blamed him for the lack thereof when it wasn't happening. Don't get me wrong I think he was the main playmaker for the team but he didn't really have a go to guy or 2 like he's had in the past. In his past years he had playmakers that he could rely on and go to when there was a play that needed to be made. But this year there wasn't 1 guy who consistently made the plays when they needed to be made. There were moments when a guy would make a play here or there or have a breakout game but they lacked consistency in doing game in and game out. Looking back over the last few years our playoff teams have had playmakers that could be counted on in crunch time. I just feel like Higgins didn't have a ton of weapons and go to guys that he had confidence in and it really showed.

I'm still proud of our boys and what they accomplished and hope that they can continue to put themselves in the position where they are playing meaningful games at the end of the year. They gave themselves a chance and that is what you consistently want to do. Let's hope that we can keep it up and continue to get better.
