Fred Granum is the new CEO of the PSU Foundation.
The foundation board of trustees on Tuesday unanimously approved Granum's appointment.
An attorney, entrepreneur and investor, Granum most recently was special counsel to former Oregon Attorney General John Kroger. He has co-founded two Portland-based logistics companies and is co-owner of Carrera Motors in Bend.
In his new role, Granum will work to enhance the growth of Portland State University, which is in the midst of a $44 million capital campaign to build a new arena. (check out this gallery of the proposed new arena.)
“PSU is on the verge of greatness,” Granum said in a statement. “This is a perfect time to join the ranks with so many who are dedicated to fulfilling the University’s mission and achieving its destiny as a world-class institution.
Formed in 1963, the PSU Foundation is an independent tax-exempt organization. Gifts advance PSU by providing scholarships for students, supporting faculty research and instruction, and enhancing facilities and program development and growth.
