Hmm....is it coincidence that the Nike Swoosh and the "Flying Viking" look eerily similar? I think not.

Yep. That's correct. Carolyn Davidson was the art student who originated the "swoosh" design for Phil Knight, who was teaching accounting at PSU. He asked her to draw something that suggested motion. $35 is about the right price he paid her for it, but that was a fair amount of money back in the 70s. He has since given her much Nike stock in gratitude for the acclaim her simple design has garnered over the years. She has gratefully declared that she has been paid-in-full.
