I heard at least 6 to 10 kids from the 2012 class are asking for their release as soon as this season ends. They all loved football but say at this point with this staff it is the worst thing in their life. Some are trying to transfer to other big sky schools and some are just done with it. They say Burton and staff sucked the joy of football from their life.
This is very bad news if true. That was the best signing class they've had in quite some time.
I've been supportive of the coaching staff since day 1 knowing what a daunting job it was to rebuild a team after the Glanville debacle. That said, no team wins that doesn't play together. If there aren't enough players buying in to the system and with faith in the staff, there is an endemic problem that can only be fixed by the staff (or new staff).
Let's face it, SUU was a MUST WIN game and we failed miserably. I know the confidence of the fans has been shattered. This is the easiest part of the schedule, let's hope a couple of good games gets this team feeling like they can win again. I don't mind losing but I just can't stand to see the team give games away week after week. It's making me bitter.
