PSU vs EWU

The real question is will EWU bother to show up, this is their last game of the season but they may either play inspired or just sort of play out the string.

Good question.

Will EWU get up for this game for the possible season sweep of the BSC Champs? Or just dial it in?

I just hope we can get a big lead and rest the starters to avoid injuries. I'd love to see the seniors have big nights, especially Curtis.

When: 7:05 p.m., Tuesday, March 4
What: Portland State (20-9, 13-2 BSC) vs. Eastern Washington (11-18, 6-9 BSC)
Where: Peter W. Stott Center
On the air: AM 910 KTRO (radio)

Probable Starters:

Portland State
G Jeremiah Dominguez
G Andre Murray
C Scott Morrison
F Kyle Coston
F Deonte Huff

Eastern Washington
G Trey Gross
G Gary Gibson
G Marcus Hinton
F Kellen Williams
F Brandon Moore

Stars:
Vikings' point guard Jeremiah Dominguez is coming off a weekend performance that saw the junior score 50 points on 17-23 shooting in two Portland State road wins over Montana State and Montana. Junior guard Adris DeLeon has been the hot hand off the bench for the Eagles, scoring 27 in a loss to Northern Colorado on Feb. 23.

Just a taste:
Eastern Washington head coach Kirk Earlywine called the Vikings, "A freight train going at full speed," after Portland State's domination in Montana this past weekend. The Eagles are the only team in the Big Sky, other than Weber State, to defeat the Vikings this season. Portland State will be looking for revenge in the regular season finale after losing in Cheney, Wash, on Dec. 22, 58-57. The Vikings will also be going for their 12th straight Big Sky victory.

I think Bone will actually start the seniors tonight, so the starting lineup will be a little different, featuring Moore and Curtis.

Just got back from the Stott, can you say wake-up call. The Viks win, barely, 76-74. I going to take the total positive point of view and say better now then at the tournament for this type of performance. Hope Coach Bone challenges these Viks in practice for the upcoming week. How did we beat the Grizzles by 52?

Hm, I completely missed out because I had to work. Could it be that they were saving energy? Were they just lazy? How was the crowd?

I think it was more we beat Montana 52, Eastern not that good, we've won this game already attitude, not that uncommon for a college team. Only Vik to play well was Deonte Huff. Bone needs to kick some backside and get these young men ready for the big sky tourney.

Ugly game. PSU didn't look sharp last night at all. Poor passing, away from the ball movement, and free throw shooting. However, a win is a win.

EWU really started shooting well in the second half and that made this a close game. The crowd seemed to lack energy until it got close at the end. There seemed to be a bunch of students there, so that's a good sign.

Scott and Lucas struggled to find their touch and I felt a little bad since it was senior night, but they'll have a time to shine next week.

Looking outside at the brigh blue sky, I'm having a hard time being negative about last night's performance. We are having the best season in school history!
