PSU vs Wash. St.

Murray is back in Portland, but apparently walking without crutches. Doesn't sound good. Sounds like Alex will play tonight.

Huff ended up with 18 points - not bad at all. We're going to have to have more scoring than Huff and Dominguez to win, though. Let's hope Alex gets the hang of it fast. I didn't hear the game, but judging by the description on the WSU web, we played a respectable game.

I only listened to parts of the game, but it looks like my prediction was about right on. For those of you that caught the game, what did you think of the rotation and shot selection? Obviously no Murray, but 3 shots in 18 minutes for Morrison? I think the outcome was about all we could have expected out of this game, but it's really frustrating after the way most of the first half went. Did they mention Hammond's status? Well, I hope a more complete team shows up on Wednesday, and if they do, it should be a fun game for fans to watch with a much improved Huff.

Wazzu is going to get exposed in the PAC-10. They've played only one good team (Gonzaga) and yes they did win but they've also struggled against teams they should blow out like Baylor, Montana and PSU.

Everybody says that. Usually right after we beat them. WSU is not a team that blows out opponents. PSU played a scrappy game and we had an off night but still pulled it out. We finished 2nd last year behind UCLA with this team so I doubt we will get "exposed."

Off night? Did you look at your field goal percentage? I don't side with the sentiment that they'll get exposed, but an off night? Come on, you could only say that about Low. We could say the same thing for many of the PSU players. WSU is a good, complete team, but clearly lack a punch to get them to the final 4.

Good luck the rest of your season. I'm a Tony Bennett fan from his time at Wisconsin.

17 turnovers? We average 10. It was the defense that didn't look good last night. When you shoot 65% you should win a little easier and by a wider margin than we did. But like I said you have a good team. Huff was going to the rim against Weaver all night. So I'm not trying to take anything away from your team. But the Coug D just wasn't there last night.

Who said anything about the final 4? I doubt that WSU will get that far either. If we play defense like we can, we have a good chance to win a few at the dance. If we play like last night we won't even get to the dance let alone win a game in the Pac. Tony will straighten them out.

Good luck with the rest of your season.

I listened to the entire game. Here are some thoughts:

- Lucas looked good. Under control, not forcing shots.

- I know Weaver is one of the best defenders in the Pac-10, but you need to anticipate that he's going to jump onto those passes in the passing lane. We were either late or lazy on some passing.

- Too many three pointers taken by us and way too many inside baskets by WSU.

- Morrison didn't look to score much. Not sure if he thought he couldn't or what the deal was. It seemed that when the ball would come down into him, he was too far out for his game.

- Huff could not be stopped on either end of the court at times in the game.

- A healthy Murray and we might be talking about something special last night. We need a guy to come in and hit shots and Coston ain't getting it done.

- What in the hell was the deal with Alex fouling out with four fouls. He went from two to four fouls on one foul and appeared to foul out with four.

Bone mentioned Hammond and Murray in the pre-game talk. Hammond is waiting on grades to come back. Bone seemed pretty confident on a couple of the results so far. Murray doesn't sounds so good. He's off of the crutches, but it sounds like it was a pretty bad sprain. Said it could be anywhere from this week to three weeks depending on how it reacts to movement. Good to see Alex in the lineup. All in all we played well enough to compete with a top 10 team. WSU did appear flat to start the game, but when they started making a run, this PSU team fought, scrapped, and refused to go down.

Nice to see Alex get activated, and I hope that we get good news about Hammond. I really think both of those guys can help us.
