PSU @ WSU - Sat, Nov 1 - Predictions

Two of the strongest offenses in the FCS are coming to battle at Stewart Stadium on Saturday. This game is going to be a high-scoring affair! I'm sure PSU would love to come into our house and beat us, exacting some revenge upon us for Weber's victory over them at their place last season. There are really no excuses why the stands shouldn't be packed on Sat. Great team, perfect weather (69 degrees and sunny), and a chance to see the Cats go 6-0, in the Big Sky, for the first time ever!

The weekend can't come quick enough. I am so stoked for this game, but I really think our defense is going to bring it and limit PSU's passing attack, they have been great so far this year.

On a side note, what happened the the wing off this year at homecoming? I had someone ask me about it at the last home game.

PSU wont be scoring 68 this year, our defense is so much better than last year. UM and NAU are a couple of the best offenses in the conf and one scored 28 on us and just 14 for the other.

As for the wing-off? They cancelled it last yr becuase of bad weather...who knows why they didnt do it this year.

A road win would be nice. Unlikely, but nice.

I sure hope the Wildcats can maintain their focus going into the stretch towards the playoffs. They need a top four seed to get a home game in the first round, and only statement wins will get the attention of the selection committee.

WSU-45, PSU-17

My prediction: Weber is going to run the ball A LOT to eat up clock and keep that PSU offense off the field. Might be more rushing yards than passing yards for the men in Purple on Saturday. But probably not.

As for the score, it depends on which PSU offense shows up: the group that scored 17 against NAU, or the team that hung 47 on Eastern.

I'll go with WSU 42 PSU 28.

I agree with you wildfan. I definitely think that the Cats will run the ball more against the Vikes. Time of Possession is going to an essential aspect to keeping the Vikes off the board.

WTF... I'm glad that there is going to be a bus to the ISU game NEXT SATURDAY, but what the Hell are we doing to get the stands full for this SATURDAY!! Hats off to the Purple Pak, I saw a coupld of signs on campus, but what else can be done. There needs to be thousands of students at the game on Sat. I'm sure the community will show up in decent numbers, rain or shine...What about the STUDENTS??? Its a home game, against a dangerous team, the CATS need our participation and support. Bring your friends, family, associates, random hot chicks, and anyone else you can think of. Go door to door looking for fans if you have to, but get Butts in the seats. LETS GO CATS!!!

PSU SCORES THUS FAR

DATE OPPONENT W-L (CONF) RESULT
8/30 Western Oregon 1-0 (0-0) W 31-14
9/13 @ UC Davis 1-1 (0-0) L 38-24
9/20 @ Washington State 1-2 (0-0) L 48-9
9/27 @ Sacramento State 1-3 (0-1) L 41-31
10/04 Eastern Washington 2-3 (1-1) W 47-36
10/11 @ Northern Arizona 2-4 (1-2) L 37-17
10/25 Idaho State 3-4 (2-2) W 36-13

It was a pretty good game, weather was perfect, fans were in the stands, good win. The 1st half was great, we had them on the ropes. 2nd half the offense forgot to come out and play ball, too many 3 and out mostly from dropped balls. Our defense gave up as many big plays to PSU in the 2nd half as they created in the 1st half. But hey we are 6-0, a win is a win, Coach Mac will have the team fired up for ISU to correct their problems and we will take it to the Bengals.

The first half was great! In the second, Weber played too conservative and were playing not to lose, instead of playing to win. Thankfully all it took Weber to win the game was one good half of football, but the Cats have got to play 4 quarters consistently. The seed selection committee is watching each performance, and making their decisions. I really want to see a home playoff game! I think, it would be the first one ever for the Cats, but for Weber to assure themselves of a seed and home playoff games, they need to be thoroughly dominate.
