Team showing no energy with much sloppiness. 12 turnovers in first 10 minutes but tightened it up a bit since then. However lazy defense allowing PSU a multitude of easy uncontested shots resulting in a 32% shooting team to be hitting at a much higher percentage. Lastly, PSU out rebounding WSU 12 to 3 on the offensive boards. The perfect storm and a proven formula for a loss: Bad rebounding, bad defense, bad shooting etc., etc., etc. Lets hope they come out with lots of energy in the second half and turn this eyesore around.

This schedule with doubleheader games every weekend is going to make it tough to put together win streaks. Honestly, I am viewing this as an exhibition year. You never know if games are going to be played or if the season or tournament is going to be completed. Really, I don’t even see the point of playing when it’s a free for all with no set of rules regarding protocols.
I loved seeing the big 10 bending itself in a pretzel to justify Ohio State getting into conference championship game when they had set a clear rule beforehand about playing enough games to qualify,..doubt they would have done that for Northwestern or Indiana. It’s also fun watching the justification of Notre Dame getting in ahead of A&M...thank heavens FCS does playoffs right and it’s not the dog and pony show that FBS runs...but I digress.
The Wildcats slipped back to sloppy rebounding. They shot a higher percentage and lost. Still they had a five-point lead with 2:23. They need to find a way to win these type of games...but again, the players might as well be playing drunk this year, so just have to learn from it and move on.

Portland State might not be the best shooting team, but what makes them tough is their ability to grab offensive rebounds. They are a hustle team. Weber, was killed on the boards yesterday, 43-29. Out of the 43 boards, 16 were offensive and the Vikings ended up scoring 18 second chance points. Something that will continue to kill this Wildcat team and has been killing recent Wildcat teams, is their inability to box out and to rebound the freakin basketball.

I totally agree on the rebounding issue. I'm sure that it is being pointed out to the guys. We out rebound PSU and beat them by 28. They out rebound us and we lose by 2. Also, consistency is a huge issue. We dug ourselves a hole for 11 minutes to start the game and couldn't quite pull ourselves out of it.talhadfoursteals said:
