Davion Berry is going to be really good for us in the future. Shoots lights out, and can finish at the rim. Every time I've seen him play he stands out.
Fields I thought played well tonight.
Bamforth was shooting lights out.
Lillard had a monsterous dunk near expiration.
 Berry was a great addition by Rahe. I know I was being a doubting Thomas earlier in the Summer when Rahe offered him a scholarship, and brought him in. But since then, I have seen the light. Both times I have seen him play, I have come away from the game in awe of his skills. The guy can flat out play. He has a killer outside shot, and due to his size, is deceptively quick. He can get to the rim and knows how to finish. My favorite attribute of Berry though is his ability to see the court. He is an excellent passer, and knows how to put his team-mates in favorable positions on the court. At first, and I still kinda am, was sad he had to sit out this season, but with Bull graduating at the end of the year, it'll be great knowing that the Cats lose very little at the SF position, and will have another really solid athlete taking over.
I thought the three Freshmen did well. Each had their moments. Fields looked a little lost a couple of times, but that is to be expected with the number of sets the Wizard runs. Even though he was, he got a lot of help from teammates, and looked like an automatic offensive asset. He needs to clean up his game on the defensive side of the court, but for a Fresh, I really liked where he is at right now. Fields had some nice looks at the basket and made the most of those looks. He has a nice outside game, and knows how to get to the rim.
Gelaun is quick, and fairly solid on defense. He did a good job guarding Lillard. To me he seemed a bit rough offensively, but out of the three, he knew the sets the best and was the most ready to play right away. His offense will come. He did have a nice drive for a bucket. Personally, since the Cats have Lillard, Bam, and Richardson, it probably would be best for Wheelright to sit this year, to give him more PT in the future, and help smooth out the rough edges a bit more, but that would be a lot to ask any athlete.
Brown, well, he is a hard-nosed player. He comes ready to go and wont quit. He isn't anywhere close to being polished, but I really liked his defensive abilities. We all know he will produce on the offensive end eventually. Last night he gave us a slight preview of what we, as Weber fans, will see in the future.
Overall, I was really happy with the freshmen's defensive play last night. As fresh, you'd expect them to get blown away by the starters and upperclassmen, but not this group. The will challenge anyone. I like their confidence, lets just hope it doesn't get out of hand.
Poor Van Pelt...Lillard posterized him!! That was definitely a sick dunk.
