Question About BSC Tourney..

If both WSU and UM finish at the same conference record, with two loses, and lets suppose UM wins the tie breaker. Are both WSU and UM co-champions regular season winners?! Would this guarantee the 2nd place tourney team a NIT bid??! Also, with the new format, what day does the 2nd place team play the 7th place team? Is the tournament the 14-16th??! Wow... Tonight's game has huge implications. We need SUU to win out!!! And MSU to lose out!!! Go T-Birds!!! :) :) Also, right now WSU has the higher rpi! We just need SUU to beat the Griz!!

If both teams finish in a tie, they would be co-champions of the BSC. The tournement is separate, and primarily used to determin the automatic qualifier to the NCAA tornement. All of the tie breaker stuff has nothing to do with the championship, only the seeding for the tournement.

no matter how many teams are tied in first place, dont matter who beat who, they all get a banner to hang.

for example 2007, we were cochamps with nau. we happen to host because we swept them. both nau and weber got a banner. in recent years there have even been tri-champs in football.

there are only 2 automatic bids in the big sky, unless there is some new one for cit:

a. team who wins big sky tourney get ncaa tourney autobid
b. hosting team does not win big sky tourney, gets autobid to NIT

2nd place can get in the NIT and has in the past but it is not guaranteed.

game by game format for 2013 big sky tourney:

It is crazy to think that the site of the tournament may be decided on the last game of the regular season. Technically, we need NAU to catch fire and beat both MSU and UM this weekend. Also hoping that MSU loses its last two games. That would make NAU ahead of MSU in the standings. Meaning that if WSU wins out, they could still host! Our last two home games are huge!! (can we get 10k+ for Saturdays game?) Can NAU get the Montana SWEEP?!??? They are playing fairly well, at least when they played us Saturday.

Also, does anyone know when the BSC is going to announce the times of the games to be played at the BSCT?? If it does happen to be in Montana, I would like to know for traveling purposes.... 8-)

that would be cool to see nau do that. i agree there is a chance msu could lose both at home. but the only bad news is nau has been swept every yr at the montanas since 2008. in 07-08 they last won in missoula, in 06-07 was their last win in bozeman and they did sweep the montanas on the road that yr.

if we cant host though i think i dont mind sending the first wsu team to win 10 away games in 43 yrs to missoula.

Likely not until sites are determined for both men and women. If both tournaments are in Missoula, for example (as appears very possible), there will be some scheduling issues (getting floor time for 14 teams for shoot arounds, walk-throughs, etc).

Scenario for BSCT in Ogden: WSU needs to win out period. NAU needs to sweep the Montana trip. OR UM loses to both SACSt and NAU... WOW... here is to high hopes!!!

Definite possibilities. Weber needs to take care of business. Sac and NAU are both better than the bobs right now. They just need to show up and beat the bobs and then UM needs to stumble at home.

Montana should enjoy that autobid to the NIT then...

(EverettGriz -- that was just begging to be done!)
