Rank our Big SKy rivals

How do you rank the other 11 teams' rivalry status to Weber State, from 1-11 1 being the biggest rival to 11 being the lowest on the rival sheet.

Only rule is you must rank every team with a ranking of 1-11

I'll start from lowest to highest.

11. Idalol (There hasn't been much interest in this series (especially on the Idalol side of things) since the Vandulls came back, don't see it starting anytime soon).

10. Portland State (When the Vikings were competitive this was a highly competitive series and there wasn't much love between the two, things have kinda died down now).

9. Sacramento State (This is a rivalry that has started to grow since the hiring of Katz and the Hornets becoming more competitive on a yearly basis, still more of a football rivalry though)

8. Northern Arizona (This one kinda makes me sad, NAU is one of our oldest conference foes, but they have slipped really far over the last few years, I want nothing more than to see NAU basketball return to being a contender again, but the rivalry here has kinda died).

7. Southern Utah (Since SUU joined the T-Birds have owned football and we have owned basketball, until the other teams start winning some of these contests this isn't one of our highest, also like Sac State, this is more of a football rivalry than anything).

6. Eastern Washington (We all remember the years of the Giacoletti (sp?) led Eastern teams, those were some good years between Weber and Eastern. Even though I am not a huge fan of Eastern's current coach, they are still competitive, and their fans still get animated in Reese when Weber is in town.

5. Northern Colorado (We used to call this the friendly rivalry, but I don't think it is very friendly anymore, there is more animosity between the two fan bases since the days UNC had their year. + UNC fans think we are one of their biggest rivals.

4. Montana State (Old big sky foes, still plenty of dislike between the two).

3. North Dakota (I can see this series getting pretty intense in the near future, Weber has been a thorn in UND's side since they joined and their fanbase has a lot of respect for our program, but there is also a little hate brewing in North Dakota).

2. Idaho State (They don't like us and we don't like them. There is only one other team in the NATION that we have played more then these guys. Plenty of hatred).

1. Montana (This one is obvious, Montana is the one school Weber has played more than anyone else in the nation, no one else in the conference has the records or history to match what Weber has done but Montana, they have been a thorn in our side recently (nice to get over that hump). There is hate, love and respect from both sides of this rivalry, and with the success the two have had recently and looking towards the future it still gonna be heated and loved).

I wouldn't say Weber is one of UNC's rivals, at least not yet. The games between the two programs are usually close and we've had some really good ones lately. UNC will have to beat Weber more to consider them a true rival. :twocents:

I wouldn't put UND that high on my list. They are too new and inconsistent to be in my top five.

Montana
Idaho State
Eastern Washington
Northern Arizona
Montana State
Sothern Utah
Portland State
Sacramento
Idaho
Northern Colorado
North Dakota

I've been around a while.

You have a great point there. ISU does have some people who care. They just haven't had a competitive team until last year. I would always rate original members of the BSC higher than any of the newcomers. The new comers just don't seem to have a grasp of what things should be like. That seems to be true even when they have good teams. :coffee:
