San Diego can't miss now and we can't hit anything. Down 10 and outscored 32 to 21 in the 2nd half. 53-45 10:42 left

I get Harding was out, but did we expect a different outcome this game? Boy, I am not excited for this season. :tothehand:

Agreed...it is really sad when we automatically assume a loss whenever we play on the road in the OOC. Not having Harding is a loss of at least 15 points. So, this loss would have been closer, but still, probably a loss. I hate this offense and the defense, in the second half, was soft, but Randy was easily out coached after halftime. Randy isn't helping himself with his assistants. Its like trying to drive a car with 3 flat tires. Yes, Randy is a good coach, not great, but good. His assistants aren't very good and he just isn't getting any help. He can use the young and inexperienced excuse a bit tonight, but...

One thing that was somewhat evident tonight was Johnson and Fuller are probably both red shirting.

I was so frustrated last night I decided to wait until this morning to comment. Unfortunately, the article this morning in the Standard-Examiner just multiplies frustration for me.

It basically verifies that Johnson and Fuller are redshirting because there were plenty of bodies on the bench to go in and play. Both are highly capable of playing good minutes, even in a system that doesn't value their particular skillset. Randy has basically told those two, after recruiting them, that they aren't good enough. Not a surprise, he does it every year, and one or both will likely transfer and not stick around in a system that doesn't value them. Sucks for them, but that's the reality of Randy's way of doing "business."

I swore I was done with everything Weber Basketball, but I can't resist. Rahe makes so much money that there's little left to pay assistants. Also, Rahe has no accountability and will only hire Yes Men who won't question his decisions. No coach with any real experience would ever consider coaching under Rahe, so you're stuck with young inexperienced coaches that will accept minimal pay and little responsibility. That the administration continues to back Rahe and pay him what they pay him will always be a mystery to me.

Great night of Big Sky basketball last night. Looks like we're back to being the Big Suck again. Six D1 games and Weber's 17 point loss was the closest game of the night. Other losses were by 41, 27, 32, 30, and 18, for an average of 27.5 on the night. Montana St even lost at home to Utah St by 30. And we've already had a conference team lose their exhibition game. Here's hoping the football season lasts deep into December.

It's too bad, last year was fun with the conference ranked 17th in the nation. This year looks like a reversion to "Montana and the 10 Dwarfs." But hey, even Kentucky lost by 34 points last night. :-D

Olds, not sure which is funnier; your post or Rahe's road OOC winning percentage. But we all know, you love your 20 season ticket seats to watch Presentation College on a regular basis.

Dee, I've only been able to watch Johnson at the scrimmage a couple of weeks ago, and frankly, he looked as good as anyone else on the floor. I'm not sure what Rahe wants to see from him, but as a freshman who hasn't played in three years, I thought he was as good as any of the other freshmen who played 25+ mins last night. If I were him, I'd take this as a challenge and man up. Take it personally and show him how wrong he is. Randy rewards guys who outwork and out tough the other players. This group of guys aren't really a team. So, who cares if he ticks off another player. As for Fuller, I think it is wise he is red shirting anyway. Randy needs a big freshman next Fall after he loses two seniors this spring.

Really good thoughts Tal. I saw the same thing from Johnson as well, plus his passing was great. Hope he can tough it out, although I have observed Randy being very slow to change, tough for a guy to stick it out. I was actually more surprised about Fuller. He's a big body, not super skilled, but a great defender and better offense than Braxton, who still struggles to make a jump hook consistently. Hopefully Fuller and Johnson can stick in there mentally when Randy has shown zero faith in their abilities so far.

You're right, we should all be used to this crap by now. Have fun watching Bethesda. BTW, it's Nurses Appreciation Night. Nothing says appreciation like giving you the opportunity to pay $7 to watch a lousy game against some school you've never heard of.

Sadly, for the first time since I was on a mission, I will not be at the home opener tomorrow. I'm not going to watch an NCAA DI team play a duft financial assistance school, playing in, I believe, their first collegiate game, from the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association). I'm totally happy for Bethesda and their team and hope they do well in this new venture, but I'm totally sick of this crap. We play a DII school in an exhibition, but this for our home opener? They aren't even NAIA DII, but NCCAA. We have one of the best DI winning percentages and we are playing Bethesda?

I want to take a step back and apologize for being a negative voice. I'm a passionate Weber fan and want the team and the university to do well, so I sometimes let my frustrations get the best of me. I hope the guys and the coaches can continue to improve each game and make this a great season.

I too Tal, will not be attending. I have a feeling the DEC will be a ghost town. Talk about building a fan base with this crap.. :ohno: Why in the world do people buy season tickets? The only games worth attending OOC home, are BYU and UVU. The school should really run package deals. This is so embarrassing to the program to see these type of games on the schedule. I am sick of Rahe.
