The 4th annual Weber State University football signing party is set for this coming Wednesday, February 6 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The party will be held on the third floor of the Stewart Stadium Skybox complex. Admission is free and all Wildcat football fans are invited to attend.

Coach Ron McBride and his staff will talk about each player who will be signing to play football for the Wildcats next season. Along with a personal analysis by each position coach, there will be video clips of each player shown to all in attendance. Light refreshments will be served before, during and after the presentation.

Well as I'm sure you know, every football coach in the nation said they got exactly who they wanted, and it is their best class ever.
Well Coach Mac said they didn't have enough scholarships to bring everyone in they could have got, but the guys they brought in sure look like they can play.
Coach Mac also went off on how tired he is of waiting for other people to raise money for the program and waiting for others to get around to promoting the team to fill the stands. So he said he is now going to do all of that himself since no one else around there would do it.
Go get them Mac!!
1 question, since he has to do Kim's job now too, does he get Kim's paycheck?

So was Kim in attendance and did he get embarrassed?

Kim, of course was not there, and Mac didn't mention him by name but it was no secrect who he was talking about.
I am predicting this is the year we finally beat Montana

Let's start a petition to make them give this guy the job!!!!

I'd sign any petition to get Kim outta here.
Why is it that it seems to be the fans job to try to promote WSU athletics? We pay our money to WSU to go to games, and we also have to promote the teams. Kim gets paid to do it, and well you know the rest.

Kim is going nowhere. Coach Graybeal will fight to keep him, since Kim is his hire. Just like his Asst. Coaches who were dragging his football program down, he wouldn't cut them loose and he wont cut Kim loose. CRAP, I agree with Coach Mac.... Its frustrating and pathetic. In reality I'm really sick of it also. However, the best way of getting people in the seats is to WIN. I don't think that will be the problem next season. By the Way, yes I really think that Weber will beat both Montana schools next season. Just like what will happen on the 21st and 23rd of this month with the basketball team.

One think that this season needs that last season did not have is good weather games. I think that 3 of the 5 games had rain in them last year. ISU, and then the people from the Hills in Colorado, NAU the first half rained, MSU, it rained all game, Sac. State it snowed. That does not mean that Kim is doing a good job, but in Utah people will not go outside and sit in the cold.

You just might be right, AJWildcat! I sure hope so. ;)

Last year's game was a pretty even matchup. Montana's talent level will be down significantly from last year, ours will be up, and we get to play them at home.

Our team, and especially the offense, will be much more experienced than they were early in the 2007 season last year in Montana! A Montana secondary which allowed a brand new freshman quarterback to complete half of his passes for 135 yards has lost more than half of its starters, not to mention All-American DE Kroy Biermann. Even with their JUCO imports, we should be able to make some hay in the Montana end zone. 8-)

On the other hand, our own defense, which forced four field goal attempts and allowed only one TD, will face a Grizz offense which lost its leading rusher, leading wide receiver, and an All-American kicker who hit two of his four field goals against Weber from outside the red zone. The incoming freshman kicker might turn out to be pretty good, but is unlikely to duplicate Carpenter's performance.

QB Bergquist will return, however, as will most of his O-Line protection. It will be interesting to see if our D steps up to improve on the 1 interception and 2 sacks we bagged last year.

On special teams I expect Mike Snoy to boom big punts just as he did last year, but hopefully on fewer occasions, as our offense is able to convert more 3rd and 4th downs. With the new kicker we should also be able to convert most of our 4th and long inside the 30 yard line to a score, and the ensuing kickoffs should pin the Grizz deep inside their own end of the field if our coverage team is as good as the coaches think it will be.

Coverage improvement on kickoffs and punts will be very important to our success next season. In 2007 we gave up good field position by surrendering more average return yards on kickoffs than any other team in the Big Sky, and we were almost as bad on punt coverage, squandering Mike's 41+yd average. :-/

Summary:
Offense: advantage Weber State
Defense: slight advantage Weber State
Special Teams: depends on punt and KO coverage
Conclusion: Advantage Weber State ;D
