• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Recruiting and Message Boards RULE and REMINDER.

With the excitement of a new recruiting season picking up steam, we are implementing a new change to our message board policy, and it going into effect immediately. As we all know, it is a recruiting violation for a booster to contact a prospect - or a prospect's family - before a prospect signs a Letter of Intent AND ALSO enrolls at said University.

This is just a friendly reminder from your ever watchful DEN staff that these rules extend to message boards.

The rules actually read as follows:

NCAA Bylaw 13.01.5.1 applies to Division I athletics and became effective August 1, 1987. It reads as follows: "In Division I, representatives of an institution's athletic interests (as defined in 13.02.12) are prohibited from making in-person, on- or off-campus recruiting contacts, or written or telephone communications with a prospect or the prospect's family or legal guardians."

NOTE FROM the DEN: In this case, "written" includes communications via message boards, and that is one situation we have no interest in messing around with.

Bylaw 13.02.12 defines a booster (which is a representative of an Institution's athletic interests). An abbreviated version of this regulation is set below: A "Booster" is any individual who is a member of the university's athletic booster club, has ever made any donations to the club or athletic department, is involved in any manner of recruiting prospects or in providing benefits (summer jobs) to enrolled student-athletes, or is otherwise involved in promoting the university's athletics program."

NOTE FROM The DEN: More importantly, if you have ever fallen into the "booster" classification, you will always fall into the classification and will be regarded as a booster, even if you are no longer technically donating money to the school.

We have consulted multiple site administrators within the Scout network, and are adopting the following policy:

1) Messages from prospects and direct family members of prospects will be deleted immediately. This policy will end as soon as a prospect signs and enrolls at Idaho State University.

2) Prospects and family members are ALWAYS welcome to READ this site. However, because of the risks to the program and the prospect’s recruitment, posts and dialogue between prospects/family and our readers - many of whom are boosters – must be avoided.
