i dont buy the argument that weber ,or the big sky on a whole, cant recruit good big men. i've been a weber fan since the dick motta phil johnson days, and there have been numerous, dominant, big men through the years. willie soujourner, bob davis, al dewitt, jimmy watts, stan mayhew, arcenoix, lance allred, dave patton, the list goes on. coach rahe, needs to broaden his horizons and get a better recruiting pipeline than just a couple of division schools in texas that he often gets tranfers from. neil mcarthy and ron abbeglen always found a way and it can be done. one other thought, if weber is top heavy with guards, why dont they have a ball handler other than lillard who could help him break a common half court press? weber was painfully exposed in last nights game with cinncinatti. if they can find a fine player like lillard, i'm confident they can find a big man who can handle a basketball. stew morrill finds them year after year at utah state and coach rahe was his assistant for a long time. i'm not trying to be critical of coach rahe,he gets a lot of effort out of his players and with with the some talent, weber could once again become a powerhouse capable of winning big games. they/ve done it in the past-north carolina, and michigan state come to mind. go weber state! and good luck in the recruiting wars!
