Recruiting

30 of the players on the current roster are from california...

how many more would you like....?

dumbass

I would recruit 40 percent from Idaho and 40 percent from Southern California and 20 percent from other states and give some scholarships to step down players and JUCO's for at need positions. No more scholarships for walk-ons with high GPA's to improve the APR's. If walk-ons want a scholarship than they need to go the JUCO route.

I'll go ahead and state the obvious.
Punter
Place Kicker
Possibly punt return specialist. (But I do feel Graves would be good there given more chances. Maybe even Jakori Ford, although next year we probably wound want to risk him)

VOTB asked Kramer about recruiting on the coaches show this evening. Kramer did not say much about recruiting. Maybe, Kramer does not want to talk about recruiting until he makes his announcement on players signed for the 2016 season. Kramer did say he feels good about his returning starters on offense and defense and some of the other players on the team that maybe starters for positions to be filled. I do not think Kramer is looking for a full scholarship traditional punter or kicker according to his interview with VOTB.

I think we listened to different shows. Obviously Coach can't give details because of NCAA rules, but he addressed some needs. For example, he mentioned they would be looking for a transfer corner and a transfer safety. He talked about the punting situation and said they recruited one last year but he wasn't eligible to play. Jewell averaged a little over 37 yards a punt at Snow, which would put him in the middle of the Big Sky pack this year, just 3 yards short of the leader. Actually, I thought Jerry did as good a job as possible to get this kind of info from him.

Transfer Safety and Transfer Cornerback is the At Need positions going into the 2016 season according to Kramer. He appeared to be content with the other positions other than improving on special teams.

Request denied BengalBannMann eve though I agree with you... We already have a punter, kicker, and field goal kicker on the team according to Kramer on the coaches show. Do you have another request other than Kramer wanting a transfer Safety and transfer Cornerback?

Here is my wish list.

No more partial or full scholarships for walkons in the program or entering the program as a walkon. They can go the JUCO route if they want a scholarship.

Transfer QB but that will not happen according to Kramer.

Transfer Punt return and Kickoff Specialist with great speed.

Two transfer Receivers that are not tight ends

Eric - Kramer will stay because he has two years on his contract and his players are doing well in the classroom and are graduating. He did indicate that he is making a change on defense and that announcemt will come after the Weber State game. Have to think you are right about new jockeys as one or more assistant coach(s) will probably be gone. This has happened several times during his five years at ISU and it did not help in the win-loss column other than the 2014 season. Just saying...

Up I'm not calling from anyone's job. Just making a funny. When I work in the DA office in the 90s my boss spent half his time looking for leaks when he was the biggest leak in the office without knowing..sometimes you look inside first.

Eric - This is what I have always heard. Coaches Recruit to Replace Players and Head Coaches at the D1 level have to win 50% or more of their games during their contract period. Assistant Coaches are normally on a two year contract so they come and go.
