In 2010, 4 seed Montana beat 1 seed Weber in the tournament. The details still haunt me to this day. I’m upset that I didn’t sit directly behind Montana’s bench with a megaphone and call Johnson a ball hog. The “up by 20” chant in the first half still plays in my head. Missed free throws, fumbling the ball, Johnson unconscious, it it seems like yesterday. Seeing Rahe pace around the arena after the game instead of being in the locker room or cutting down nets still hurts to think about. Now as a 4 seed, we have a chance at payback against Montana as a 1 seed. I’m thankful for Reno this year. We wouldn’t stand a chance in Missoula. On a neutral floor, we won’t go down easy. We deserve to steal one. Doing so would put 2010 to rest forever.

This is what Rahe & Co. play for, a chance to get hot in a participation tournament 550 miles through the desert. Oh boy! Here we go! Now, the excitement truly begins.

Of course it is, it's the only way for ANY Big Sky school to get to the dance That's all that matters right? Getting to the Dance? In a participation tournament who cares who gets the #1 seed right?.......Right? I mean people here say that Reno has depleted much of their excitement for the season because it made the season pointless. So why should it matter if Weber was #1, #4 or #12 right?

I was literally booking flights to Houston at halftime for the NCAA first round. Ouch...

I respectfully disagree. We are going to be a 4 seed this year and going into Dahlberg during the sky tourney and taking down Montana would put 2010 to rest. With reNO that will never happen. That home court atmosphere will NEVER be the same.

Fellas, there is a reason why we are the 4 seed, and we are very lucky to be the 4 seed. Really this team has over-achieved, and now is running out of gas. Winning in reNO would be awesome and of course, I'd love it, but in my mind, Montana is the best team in the conference and they have EARNED the right to have the easiest path, if our conference has to have a post-season tournament, to go Dancing. In 2010 we earned that right to. The Dee was packed and, well, we lost in the Championship. Just a few years ago, so did Montana on their home floor. The last time the tournament was hosted by the regular season champ, the Griz got beat by Harvey's Eagles. Hell, if Weber were to win, we are probably playing in a play-in game in Dayton (are they still played there, and WHY THE F do they play those games there?). Only if the Cats make it to the final should this team continue playing. Jerry please don't waste money on the CIT. I'm hopeful the Cats get a W tomorrow and we go into reNO on a high note.

 Couldn't agree more...Coach Rahe is whining about how lately the Wildcats have lost energy & shots that normally go in - aren't..that's a part of it but another big part is that they have played 3 teams that are BETTER right now & his coaching & team's weaknesses are being exposed once again against good opponents!

Yes, as a fan I want to see Weber St. win the tourney & go to the big dance but fear it would be another  for the Big Sky. :twocents:
