Reorganization Plan to Raise Oregon Higher Ed Prestige

Ambitious plan to radically raise Oregon's Higher Education prestige.

1. Privatize the University of Oregon and make it the campus run by Nike et al. No one in America would fault Nike or Oregon for doing so. Place it in the following group with Stanford, the other Nike campus:




2. Create an Oregon State University System, composed of the following four campuses, east and west:




3. Create an Oregon Institute of Science, Technology and the Arts System, composed of the following five campuses north and south:

Privatizing the University of Oregon would necessitate UO being able to afford their assets. All of them. Buildings, land, equipment, investments, etc. Even if the state decided to no longer fund them annually, their assets are still public property. It would take a lot more than Nike money to do that.
