Man, my thoughts are with each of his family members and his teammates on both basketball and football teams. Sad.

What a terrible and sad story. If I recall his sister was ones of the people that came out on the floor with him on senior night.

I sat near his Mother and many more members of his family on senior night. This story is absolutely surreal. My prayers go out to the Strickland family and the PSU athletic dept.

Deante Strickland Celebration Of Life Scheduled For Aug. 14

A Celebration of Life for former Viking Deante Strickland will take place on Wednesday, August 14. The Celebration of Life will be at the Viking Pavilion on the Portland State campus and begin at 1 p.m. The public is welcome.

Strickland, a recent graduate of PSU and two-year letterwinner on the Viking basketball team, died on Aug. 2.
