Retro Day and helmet logo

What do you guys think about a retro day where the team comes out in the old Jamie Martin Uniforms with the flying W's? I think it would be cool and I think the fans (especially the older fans) would get a kick out of it.

Alot of people say Weber's logo isnt very helmet friendly, so the question is, Should Weber change thier helmet logo? If yes what would look better? A solid white block W, the W in the Shield, a white flying W? The Paw logo, just the Wildcats face?

Personaly I like the Wildcat in the shield logo on the helmet, but they should take the Weber State writing off. I would also like the return of the Flying W

Dave Arslanian used to call it the "Go W" and I liked it at the time, but I'd say stay with the shield.

It was really expensive when Griz wore those light brown and piss uniforms for just one game. I agree to remove Weber state from the top, not needed when the jersey says Weber state. I would like to see all purple again but no white.

It certainly would be cool to have a 'retro' day. However, don't expect or ask for it. WSU certainly doesn't have the dough to pull something like that off. Also, I agree with you guys. I like the shield, but removing the 'Weber State' would make it pop off the helmets a bit more.

I'd love to see this, unfortunately we DO NOT have the budget to buy retro-styled uniforms. I do know old Tom Shurtliff has a ton of old uniforms in his dungeon, but those old uniforms would look so disgraceful. :lol:

the arrow W would be kinda cool to see back but we all know that aint gonna happen. if it was to change how would u change it? i think the concensus though is just the cat in shield minus the text at the top which is the best option i think too.

what is up with the paw only? is that something newer or just rarely used? the only time i have ever seen this used is with the basketball program.

why was this text not used on the 50 yard line? this text is used in the swenson gym/volleyball stadium. i believe this is offical logo and not unofficial bookstore logo.

Since Weber doesn't listen to their fans, slim to none. But whether it's with the old Go W or not, the current logo doesn't work well on a helmet and should be replaced with something else, IMO.

Are we not looking for recognition or what? How can we miss with WEBER STATE on the front of the jersey and the purple helmet with the white flying W? From Boston to Lubbock and even Davis,Ca. can see from high atop the 50 yard line to way behind the end zone. 'It looks like we're playing that cool WEBER STATE bunch today. ' 'Those guys even look fast'. 'They look so good there is no way we can beat these guys'. A little humor but you have to admit we looked pretty damn sharp with that combination and how they got away from it is a mystery to me. :thumb: BYU went back to what the majority preferred and what looked best so i doubt it would be a big problem if we just started the year with the combination. maybe even have a vote sheet from the home game programs for one season to make it all democratic and legal . Its a home run from any angle. That wildcat on the W is quite tasteful also if we could just find a place for him/her without making it too noisy.
