Riley has transferred to Dixie State. Riley is a great young man and I wish him nothing but the best.

Being close to AAU ball and coaches throughout Utah, I knew Riley would be leaving, although I didn't know where, so I'm glad the news was finally released. Riley is a great person and excellent player, and he'll do well at Dixie.

My only point in all of this is that we must respect the individuals, the programs, and the process. I'm certainly not perfect, but I try really hard to not talk out of line of that respect. Sometimes, there are good reasons that people keep information from the public. We don't always know why, but that is less important to me. :coffee:

Sorry about that. Seems like preaching is what I do best, sometimes. I do respect your views as well. :thumb: :thumb:

It's all good. I never meant any disrespect to Court or anyone else, I just knew the situation firsthand and knew that it wasn't a secret. Most likely, the university doesn't want to be the first to release it, and Riley isn't a big social media guy, so it took awhile until he decided on a new landing spot.

Well I appreciated the process - instead of just transferring, Riley announced he was leaving and said where he was going. This whole transfer thing is so odd to someone who has followed local college basketball for so long. But it looks like the new reality. When a kid transfers, and just puts himself out there, you wonder what is wrong. When a kid announces a transfer with a plan of what the next step is, I respect that process more.

Hey, I'm old school. I still believe in the whole scholar-athlete thing (although it seems to be more of a fairy-tale today). While these kids are getting to play a high level of basketball, they are also getting their college paid for (and that is getting more and more expensive for other kids their age). I just always hope they are working towards a good degree too. Good luck to Riley at Dixie!
