Road to the Natty!

Interestingly, several people have posted a full bracket to the Natty, but no commentary on each round and possible adversaries and how we should attack or defend those opponents. What's up? Each bracket has EWU winning the Natty. I am all for that :D

first things first; beat Montana. We will have a much better idea of how we stack up against the rest of the field after that rematch which I think we will win. Bottom line, there's not a team in this side of the bracket that we can't beat so lets take it one game at a time. in the quarters, I think we will face N. Iowa and beat them at home. I think that will be the toughest game on the road to another Natty.

Hey Guys, Northern Iowa is not a gimme. They are the only team to beat the bisons in two years. That running back at Northern Iowa will be the best back that we will have faced all season. He's big and fast. EWU has beaten Montana three straight and four straight looks good right now. However, they did slap around MSU and we did barely beat them with Dakota Prokup who is very athletic. The Montana game will be a challenge as well. UNH might be somewhat overrated if EWU manages to get to them and providing UNH makes it that far as well. Go Eagles, who have done more with less than any team on the FCS level.

Beating Montana twice in a month will be no easy task, but our team is up to the task. After that, Northern Iowa looks to be clicking at the right time and will be a very tough matchup. I don't see anyone beating New Hampshire on the other side of our bracket. Fordham, Chattanooga? A potential semifinal game with New Hampshire seems very intriguing and would be a very fun game to watch. The only downside being that it wouldn't be at home for the first time in several years.

The Moc's have a better than average Defense and efficient offense with NFL bound athlete's on both sides of the ball. Think they will fare very well against UNH.

Certainly, EWU has to take care of business against the Griz. In order to win, the use of TE/RB to help slow down Wagenmann on passing plays gives WR's more time to come open and keep VA standing. Stretching the field sideline to sideline will wear Montana down and assist the run game. Would suggest that the defense could actually do a lot of things to slow down the Griz juggernaut (sarcasm). Maybe take a look at the Montana/NDSU tape for a few ideas. EWU just has too much talent and depth to let Montana come onto the Inferno and win. The next contest against UNI or Illinois St will be a fun one for sure.

And they could look at the "brawl of the wild" game and learn what NOT to do
Those poor sufferable Cats!

Definitely a lesson in the need for taking care of the ball :thumb:

I think we have the hardest bracket with UNI and ISU but we tend to match up well against Valley teams and if we get to the semi's, I think UNH is by far the easiest of the other 3 seeds.

if we can get by Montana I think N. Iowa will have a hard time defending our up tempo spread offense.
