Roos Field Renovation

You'll all heard football is religion in Texas. This is a 60 mil temple high school stadium.

Seeing this amazing field in Texas prompted me to think-who will be the next QB who comes to EWU from Texas to compete for the opportunity to lead EWU to a national title? Will it be a young man tuning in Saturday on ESPNU to watch SHSU who sees the Red Turf and the great atmosphere our AD and others have established? Pretty cool our AD had his last stop at Baylor before he came to Cheney.

Texas football is awesome, as good as any state in this great nation. That will make our win Saturday that much sweeter. We welcome the SHSU fans, your last visit here is a tough memory for many of us but Saturday will be different. Good luck, travel safe and come to Frisco and root us on January 5. We know how to tailgate, hope to see you in the parking lot across the street from the stadium in Frisco. If you are in Cheney find the horse trailer directly west from the Will Call window, maybe 100 yards. Cold beer, good food and friendly fans.

I saw this image at the pre-game on Saturday. It gives a good view from the new outdoor suite seating and shows a view of the field and new south endzone berm. Can't wait to see it in person (assuming I can get someone to invite me into their suite!)

That looks awesome. Where are you guys getting these pictures from?

Have they talked yet about deposits? I know that survey came out, but just curious. Also how much are swuits for the press box side currently going for?

The Foundation is handling everything for premium seating. I'd suspect they are not prepared for final pricing and deposits, but I suspect Tim Szymanowski or Marc Hughes would be thrilled to know you are interested. Maybe I can come hang in your suite so I can see the action from the premium view.

Yah I am sure they would but would like to know what they are currently going for. . . If I remember correctly someone quoted me this past year at 4k does that sound about right?

$4k sounds really low to me for a donor suite. I think the loge boxes in the club area will probably be in that neighborhood. They are cool too though.

Sooooo....any idea where all these rendering are coming from? Seems like a bunch have been posted, but I'd like to see ALL of them. :thumb:

I remember a while back hearing something about the athletic department setting up a web site for the project at some point in the future. That would be HUGE!!!

I also remember a few weeks back reading something to the effect of them waiting to find out if they could secure a very large donation and that they expected to know "within a week or so". That was about 3 weeks ago. Anyone know the scoop?

I just really hope that the athletics department does not screw anything up over something silly such as naming rights, which is what happened 9 or 10 years ago when a big donor backed out to complete the second phase of the original renovation.

I have said several times before, the naming this isn't a big deal and we could simply call the entire thing "Roos Field at X Stadium"....

To compete on a year in year out basis against Mont & MSU, the donations need to increase exponentially.Go to Bozeman and MIssoula to see what their facilities are like then come back to Cheney. It's amazing the job the Wulff & Baldwin have done over the years to compete with programs that have 3x-5x more budget.

Start donating and get your friends to give as well. There will be a season where Baldwin leaves to a D-1 school and this is way their doing the GW Proj now so they can keep this program rolling.

GO EAGS

Baldwin won't have to travel far to get to a D-1 school....he's at one! In fact he's won a D-1 National Championship, not to many coaches can say that.

This. And you can make the case we've been competitive with Montana and MSU for a decade or so at this point. But yes, it's still an arms race and increasing donations and retaining staff will be what it takes to continue this.

Just curious if anyone knows if part of the Gateway Project they are thinking about having a hall of fame area? I know we have the Reese Room, but who goes down there? Not many.
After the basketball game versus ISU I walked by the football locker room and saw for the first time the Payton Awards and the National Championship Trophy and some other BSC Trophies. Great way to display them, but would be cool to have something like UW has in the BOA Arena for the public to really get a goo glimps of the trophies and awards the teams have been earning. Everything just seems so scattered (Reese Court, Reese Room, & Football Offices) Let's combine everything and get the some of the older stuff out as well.

Love this idea. Do things like the Payton/Buchanon Awards stay at the school or do the awardees keep them?
