Root Sports is sending a message: If you want more TV time, win or get more fans.

Keep in mind, Root Sports is a Northwest network, thus all the Northwest teams. There is Fox Sports SW and FOX California that likely cover the other teams.

If that was the case then why schedule any PSU games?
How do they get 3 games????
I do believe Portland State is considered in the northwest.
The Mariners purchased majority stake in Root Sports it was announced earlier this week. Wonder if that may affect the Big Sky contract in the future?

This is a huge win for EWU fans. I like the fact that we have four games televised. The good part is that the MSU game will sell out even with it being televised. Let's hope that a late season televised game against PSU doesn't hurt the attendance for that one too much.

All in all, I like it. :thumb:

Interesting that the four televised games are consecutive. The only schedule conflict with the Cougars is also the PSU weekend. Might that also detract from EWU attendance?

I don't think the Cougar game will hurt attendance, but weather and a bad record certainly would. The most important thing this season for drawing fans will be making sure we get through those brutal and badly scheduled first four games with no more than 2 losses. If we lose 3, our margin for error becomes nil and a single more loss would end the season.

At 8-4 with only 7 DI wins, we would be on the bubble, but still have a chance to get in, considering there are 3 more at-large bids this year.
