EWU only gets two games. Disappointing.

Four of the ten games have team that made the 2016 playoffs.

BTW, UM & MSU have the same alumni base as EWU. Have a hard time believing their TV market size is that large. If you go by numbers PSU is by far the largest school based on enrollment. ?????

School attendance doesn't really mean much if you're not drawing large crowds for football games. In PSU's case, they're not selling out their games. If you're not selling out your games, then the demand for TV viewership obviously isn't there. Now EWU could certainly make a case for more TV time since you've actually done pretty well with game attendance the last few years, but compared to the Montana schools, Montana's market is huge.

The first game @ Griz is good for EWU in that it will not hurt home attendance. The second and last one vs PSU could hurt attendance since it is late enough that weather could be a factor so some fair weather fans will stay home and watch TV. I'm surprised that a Montana school is in every game except one.

Clearly, this is a reflection of losing Coach B. It's not right, but Coach Best and staff will have to prove once again, this program is here to stay.

Montana schools getting 5 each is ridiculous, but the nature of the beast.

I may have made mention of this before, but at one of the games I asked the Root Sports guys how their Big Sky contract was working for them. They said Montana games had really good numbers, Eastern and Montana State had similar and respectable numbers, and Portland State games were like broadcasting into a black hole.

If that remains true, this would be a strange decision. It would be hard to believe Easterns numbers would have dropped last year and MSU's would have increased?

Clearly?? I don't see that so clearly. Do you think Root squewed their schedule because we had a coaching change? Doubt it, It is all a numbers game about viewers last season, clearly.

This has nothing to do with Baldwin or Best, or no Kupp or VA. This has everything to do with the State of Montana and their #'s also with trying to get every school on the schedule as they can. The big shocker..... if there is one is that we don't get the MSU game, but that will always be trumped by a Montana vs. fill in the blank game. They probably get a ton of advertising money from U of Montana area. Easy sell. I am suprised that they are even putting on the EWU vs. PSU game, but I guess that can be advertised as rivalry week (day).

2012 - 2 games = Both Montana Schools
2013 - 4 games = Both Montana, Cal Poly & PSU
2014 - 4 games = Both Montana, NAU, & PSU
2015 - 3 games = Both Montana, Weber
2016 - 4 games = Both Montana, PSU, UC Davis
2017 - 2 games = Montana & PSU

Clearly, I struck a nerve with Claw. But high octane offense has always been attractive and many people believe EWU's offense will take a step back without Beau. I don't agree with that, however, it doesn't really matter what I think.

Montana schools have the numbers, which is why they're on tv the most. It's been that way throughout the Root deal. But what's the reasoning for dropping EWU to 2 games after finishing in the final 4 again last season and having two of the best offensive players in FCS history?

The Eagles clearly need to work harder at finishing 8th and 10th place in the league instead of in 1st to secure those coveted televised spots like the Grizzlies and Bobcats did last year.

I think it just comes down to putting as many schools on as possible in the conference.

Gives the Montana schools ample opportunity to disappoint their fans :D

Allows The Griz and Bobcat faithful the opportunity to watch their middle of the pack teams try to relive their glory years. Too bad its all about money but there you have it! If it wasn't you'd see a heck of a lot more of UND, EWU and probably NAU as the top three favorites returning.

To All,
I you haven't notice, the above is out. If my counting s correct, we have 75 personnel on the Roster, not including Recruits. Can't wait to get hitting. Vic E. Wallace.

Thanks Vic, I'll start a new thread so roster does not get lost.

I wish we had more games, but Montana and Montana State bring in the highest numbers. 9 of the 13 teams will be on Root this year. Understandable that the California schools and SUU aren't on there.

On Oct 21st I'd rather be watching EWU VS SUU on Root instead the scheduled pillow fight between Montana State and Northern Colorado
