Here is the article on Royce Williams signing his letter. Pretty cool article. Sad that the Standard Examiner has not even made a mention about it.

It is good to see that Royce is officially a Wildcat. For some reason, the team wanted to keep these signings quiet. Maybe Rahe is waiting till the end of the Spring Signing period to announce the signees. Maybe the team wants to announce all of the signings at the same time. If so, there might be another player planning to sign. I know there was some concern over whether or not Mook's knees would be able to handle another season. Rahe might be looking for some insurance bigs, hence, Borklund's visit last week. No matter, and I think we could all agree on this, Borklund, if here were to come to Weber, would be a RS, in the same position as Van Pelt.

Finally an official announcement:

Weber State men’s basketball head coach Randy Rahe has announced the signing of three players to National Letters of Intent to join the Wildcat basketball program. Wayne Bradford, Royce Williams and Abdulsamad (Duce) Zaid have all committed to come to Weber State beginning in the 2012-13 season.

Wayne Bradford is a 6-3 guard who comes to Weber State after one season at Sheridan Community College in Sheridan, Wyo. and will be a sophomore with the Wildcats next season. In his one season at Sheridan he averaged 11.2 points and 1.4 assists per game. He shot 49 percent from the field, including 41 percent from three-point range. He also finished first in the country in junior college in free throw percentage at 90.8 percent. Bradford is originally from Baltimore, Maryland but attended Roanoke Catholic High School in Roanoke, Virginia where he played for legendary coach Bill Hodges, a former head coach at Indiana State. As a senior Bradford averaged 17 points and 4.5 assists per game. His best game came against powerhouse Oak Hill Academy where he scored 27 points and had six assists.

Royce Williams is a 6-5 forward from Los Angeles, who joins Weber State after one season at the New Mexico Military Institute and will have three years with the Wildcats. As a freshman this past season he played in 27 games and averaged 11.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 48 percent from the field. Williams played at Hamilton High School in Los Angeles and earned Second Team All-City honors.

Abdulsamad (Duce) Zaid is a 6-2 guard from Los Angeles. He will be a junior with the Wildcats this season after playing two years of junior college basketball. In 2010-11 he was a freshman at Arizona Western and averaged 6.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. This past season he played at Barstow Community College and led the team in scoring at 17.4 points per game. Zaid attended Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles and was a two-time All-Conference player.

“We are very excited for all three of these players to join us and they will fit right in with what we have here,” Rahe said. “All three are high character people and good students. They will bring some athleticism to our team and all have a team first attitude. We’re looking forward to what they can become in our program.”

In November Weber State signed Joel Bolomboy and Kyndahl Hill from Texas who will both be freshmen with the Wildcats this season.

I know there are a bunch of things that need to be checked and covered before a school can comment on a players recruitment.
