Rumor: Big Sky TV contract starting 2012?

See link below; there is also a lot of buzz around the other Big Sky forums. This would be a great thing, if true. Not only would it provide more much-needed exposure to the major media markets, but needed revenue as well. I believe the rumored contract would be through Root Sports, which I believe may have been what FSN used to be? If anyone recalls, they picked up the UW-EWU game. I am very interested in whether or not this contract would also include things like men's basketball as well. I gotta say, Fullerton has been very proactive the last year or so. I particularly like his comments about filling the void that the weakened and now more Texas-based WAC has created in the West. No reason why the Big Sky shouldn't be the 3rd Division 1 Conference out west behind the Pac-12 and MWC. We just need to find that 14th member and things are basically set.

A very long, but good read with Fullerton can be found here:

If all Big Sky TV games become televised, I wonder what the possibility of getting instant-replay would be. I think one or two FCS conferences have instituted it starting this season. Perhaps this might help mitigate the effects of the usual horrible Big Sky officiating.

That would be great

NBS sports bought Versus and will roll it into their programing schedule starting Nov 1. Wonder if that could have something to do with this?

Comcast sports northwest picked up an EWU this year and last year too. Northern Colorado last year, and Weber State this year. I wrote in both times and thanked them for picking up the games, it's important that others do the same also to let them know people are interested.

I have been wondering about this the past couple of years. Here in Missoula other than the Griz and Bobcat games, you can usually get 1 or 2 games on cable channel 59/60 AND they give you a replay on Sunday evening of one of them.

This year it has been even more. Hope it comes through. It would be nice not to have to stream them off the net and then to the TV.
