Sac State, who was arguably the surprise of the league last year, has had a pretty lackluster season so far... They are 3-7 in conference play.

@ Portland State Lose by 8
@ Montana State Lose by 7
@ Montana Lose by 19
Idaho State Win by 11
Weber State Lose by 11
Portland State Lose by 18
@ Idaho Win by 2
@ Eastern Wash Lose by 7
Montana Win by 4
Montana State Lose by 3

A couple of good wins vs. Idaho and Montana are impressive.

They have been playing without their starting guard Demps for the last 7 or so games.

They have not performed on the road well at all, besides the Idaho game which they barely squeaked out.

I'm expecting a double digit win for the Wildcats.

The Hornets still have plenty of talent, Weber cannot allow Sac to get hot. And Weber can't come out and shoot as badly as they have been, Sac is still good enough to beat us on our home court. I don't think they will though, and I'm predicting a 12 point victory for Weber

We will need to play our very best to be able to stay with you guys....If we had Demps, I would like to think our record would be more like 7-3 and we would have a decent chance to beat you but we don't have Demps so that is about all there is to it...

How long till you get Demps back?

He must have had a really bad tear. Any chance at a medical red shirt year out of it?

Didn't he get injured at the beginning of the conference season? If that is the case, there probably won't be enough games remaining to appeal a medical red shirt. Bogus deal for him, if that is the case.

I did hear that he suited up last week. But, like I said in another post. He isn't in game shape. He hasn't been able to run, because he has had a major leg injury. You can't really do much with a leg injury.

I really hope to see Demps back though. He deserves it. He has had a stellar career and he deserve to go out playing.

As for tonights game. I'm just hoping to see Weber play better than their last home stand. They were flat on Saturday, but that is to be expected...long road trip and having to play earlier than usual. But that is what teams have to face on the road. Oh, lets hope for a far better reffing experience than two weeks ago too. :thumb:

We won this game with solid defense. We didn't give them too many good looks at the basket. It's a good thing. Our offence wasn't good for most of the night.

It was good to see that Demps is back. Although, he didn't look like he is at full speed yet. He was a bit rusty. I hope they aren't bringing him back too soon and he re injures himself. Sac's bigs were ineffective all game long. I think that our plan to attack them worked out well.

We handled the ball a little bit better in this game. :coffee:

Weber played great defense last night. Really limited the ability of the Hornets to drive to the hoop. Forced them into taking a lot of low-quality shots. Good to see Demps back on the floor after his injury. I felt, in limited time, he did a good job.

Joel was awesome, sans the missed dunk (what was that all about...there were three last night; ugh!). Another 20 and 20 on the season. I was telling my nephew at the game, that that in and of itself made it worthwhile for being at the Dee. Only three more opportunities to watch Gumby Joel (he doesn't have a nickname, so might as well try to get him one in his time left at the Weber. This is definitely a working effort. Suggestions would be appreciated).

As for our offense...YIKES! It was bad. We are totally out of rhythm. I don't know why, but Rahe has really cut the mins of Baker, Gittens, and Cannon. Against NAU, Baker hits two huge threes, seems to get some nice confidence in his shot and hasn't seen significant mins since. I'm sorry...I don't know what Rahe is seeing, but Cody John is not better than any of those guys. I kept shaking my head over the fact that Cody had his shirt pulled this season. He is talented and will end up having a nice career. Yet, TO me, it is a waste of eligibility and Rahe is now trying to prove his decision by playing him. Not to mention Juwan Williams...the kid has some serious talent and rarely gets off the bench. He only gets into a game if Hill and Braxton are in foul trouble. I understand the reasons for having him available, especially once Kiko went down, but...

FINAL complaint...JEREMY IS NOT A POINT GUARD. Damn coach is stubborn. Time for some shake up on the bench. He needs better assistants.

No matter...Weber gets the win and that is all that matters. Really enjoyed watching Joel having another 20/20 on the season. Wow!! Another 23 rebound game!!

I didn't get to see the game last night..I was at the Cal-Oregon game (which was a Cal rout)..surprised to see Demps get to play but it looks like he wasn't too effective..maybe he'll be ready to go full strength by tourney time...we have been a streaky shooting team all years and it looks like we were off last night..Bolomboy played great...he's going to need more help down the stretch...good luck for the rest of the season..

It's a really interesting box score with two starters not scoring (Braxton and Cannon) and only five of ten players who played scoring. I think that several young players are struggling right now -- Cannon, Braxton and John (and maybe Baker too, although he played a full JC season last year). I would guess it has something to do with the grind of the season that might be getting to them because of their youth.

Williams was a revelation last night. He might start seeing more minutes now as that was the most comfortable I've seen him. Very fluid. Despite shortened minutes by some, I will say that I still love the fact that Rahe is going 10 deep with this bench. We'll see how they look on Saturday as they just didn't seem to have it tonight. Maybe they'll come out mad. But Junkyard Joel (OK Tal, I gave it a try) was unbelievable. It's just thrilling to watch him!

BTW, that goal tending call on Joel was a horrible call. At the time it was called I thought it was a bad call, but when they showed the replay it was clearly a good block. Maybe the best block of the season for Joel. As usual, the refs sucked. It wasn't a close game, so the poor officiating had no effect on the outcome. I hope we don't see this at the tournament. Although, I don't see how we can avoid it. :wall:

I think if we start putting together complete games, teams are in trouble.

The Positives:
Foul shooting was good last night. On most foul shots Joel looks more comfortable.
There is nights when Hill looks amazing.
Our offensive rebounding was good.
Defense was intense.
Williams is fearless, kid is going to be first team Big Sky before his career is over.
This might be the deepest team we have had in the Rahe era.

The Negatives:
You better be getting offensive boards when you shoot 15% from the 3.
Senglin & John are both forcing it.
Baker, Braxton, John and Cannon appear to have hit the rookie wall.
I agree with Tal, its time to shake up the assistants.
6500 reported attendance, maybe 3500 were there.

The Future:
If Cannon, John and Baker are struggling, why not see what Jefferson can do? Can he honestly be any worse than John right now?
I would also like to see Gittens get some more minutes.
This team clearly has the tools to be really good. They just haven't been able to mesh it all together. (See above comment about assistants)
