MoV - you mean Big West for other sports... and that wouldn't surprise me.
BTW, the article:
http://www.mustangdaily.net/media/storage/paper860/news/2006/11/08/Sports/Great.West.Looks.To.Expand.From.5.To.At.Least.8.Teams-2445817.shtml?norewrite200611201302&sourcedomain=www.mustangdaily.net I tend to want to take school paper articles with more than one grain of salt.
If (perhaps when) the Gateway takes ND State and SD State, North Dakota and South Dakota will take their place. Of course, they'll be pinging to join their brethren in the Gateway right from the get go.
The Big West won't take Portland State because of extra (read: air) travel. Well, they MIGHT take Portland State, but PSU would be asked to subsidize the travel costs of other schools to Portland. That really excited Idaho and Utah State.
The other burning questions: who else will have 1-AA football out west to make 8 for the Great West?
In two years, will everyone feel the same positive vibes about the Great West? I may use the phrase "these things go in cycles" too much, but it seems to apply here.
