• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

The UOP board is finding it hard to believe that Sac is a 17.5-pt dog going into the annual Battle of the Calaveras. While I certainly don't condone such a margin, I wouldn't be surprised if the egg Sac laid at USC figured into that. The problem with that theory, though, is that UOP is coming off a huge egg of its own in a "home" game at Stockton Arena vs. Cal.

79-49 final, Pacific with the win. Anyone catch the game?

From the numbers it looks like Pacific shot lights out all game. They were 45% from the floor and 72.7% from the line compared to 30.2% from the floor and 68.4% from the line for the Hornets. Seems like it was just a dominating performance by Pacific.

It's NOT Katz' style. He doesn't have all the talent yet. Give him time. His teams at Delta routinely scored 70, 80, even in the 90's some games.

That was at the JC level, this is DI. HUGE difference there.

If he wants the team to "take it slow (his words, not mine)" and to pass a certain number of times each possession before shooting, then it is his style.

I'm not saying Katz is a bad coach, he's not. Heck, he's even doubled his wins in a season since last season  . Most people will give him until his third or fourth season before they start to really question his abilities.

It would probably help Katz's (and the Hornets) cause if his players could shoot better than 38 % from the field, which is easily the worst in the Big Sky. And from the games I have been able to watch, they are not taking bad shots, they are just missing good shots.

I, for one, am happy with the improvement this year.

Exactly. If someone would have told me that we would be 4-7 at this point and won at OSU before the season started, I would have said that's nuts.
