Sac Women lose to SUU...

...AND Montana beats the Goddess.

That combined with the fact that it looks like I'm going to go 0-2 on the day for the NFL Playoffs makes this one bad day for me....

:ohno:

Just not the Hornet Women's afternoon. The team looked flat and in the second half nothing would drop. SUU is a good team they deserved the win, congrats to them. Time for payback when the Hornets travel to Cedar City.
Great atmosphere in the Nest again today, over 700 showed up. 11-2/3-1 in the BSC is still great, let's start a new win streak at EWU and PSU this week!.

Go Hornets!

exactly.

one of those days where everything goes wrong in the 2nd half. SUU looked completely lost in the first half as our Hornets went up by 15 points at one point. Then the T Birds got the easy lay ups and free throws time after time. Will indeed enjoy the rematch in the tiny town in Utah next month. Coach Buncky will make the adjustments and the Hornets will be well prepared for the Birds.

Time to go on the road north to Portland State and EWU and get things back to where we all know this team can be.

A great opportunity to learn and to right the ship and get hungry for wins again.

Go Sac State!!

And great to see over 700 at Hornet Gym today during winter break. Hopefully we will see a sell out when our Hornets return home.

We just got out coached in the second half, and that happens. SUU had nine days off to get ready for this game and they used it. Then they lost to Northern Arizona. It's seems like North Dakota is the team to watch this year.

We'll know more about just how good North Dakota is after they play the Montanas this week and us next.

Well no need to worry about UND now that the Lady Hornets lost to a PSU team that was missing a couple of their best players. Unfortunately it looks like this team is coming back down to Earth.

...at least they are still better than the men. Katz allowed the 20 year old 3 point streak to end against one of the worst 3 point defending teams in the nation...at home to a team that hadn't won a road game in 20 tries. Just when you think this program is as low as it can get, Katz finds a way to prove otherwise.

Negative much SD?

Naw just stating the obvious. Lady Hornets need to take care of business against inferior competition to earn a spot in the BSCT. They didn’t last night but there is still plenty of hope for them. The men…meh, they are a lost cause. Last night’s loss indicates that this team will more than likely finish 2nd to last in the BSC. You just can’t lose to comparable competition at home and expect to make the BSCT.

It looks as though opposing coaches may have found a way to slow down the Hornet's attack. Montana wasn't able to slow them down, SUU was off 9 days prior to the game and obviously found a weakness. I was at the SUU game, they played well but the Hornet's ice cold shooting in the second half also helped the T-Birds. Portland State looked like they found a way to slow the game down and limit Hornet possessions. Coaches at this level are not idiots. If a team is doing something successful sooner or later they will find a adjustment to stop it.
I think that Coach Harkleroad's style caught a lot of teams flatfooted and that they are now making adjustments. It's up to Coach Harkleroad and his staff to make adjustments to get us back on the winning track. This team lost a lot of senior's last year, I expected this to be a rebuilding year. I think that the Coaches and Ladies have done a amazing job. Whatever happens the rest of the season, this is a very young team and has a promising future.

indeed.

North Dakota went down to MSU and NAU beat PSU by 22.

Let's get back on track next week against UND and UNC at Hornet Gym.

Plenty of games to go and play the way we know Sac State can play. Big time defense against all the easy lay ups for our opponents any may the balls start falling into the basket for our Hornets as they did before this three game slide. .

Go Hornets!!

The coaches better get it figured out soon with ND coming to town. I watched part of the ND/MSU game on Bigsky TV and they have a 6'5" gal in the middle that will have us for lunch unless we play more than one player in the middle to try and stop all the layups...

Since Se'Nyce Parrish is out for the year and Andrea Chenier didn't play this last week. I think one of our problems is the lack of players. When you play our type of basketball you need a strong second team. Ashlyn Crenshaw is a true freshman and is picking up the load, but she needs more time to develop.
