Well...after a promising start to the season, Sacramento State is starting to look like the Sac of old. They are a very dangerous team and can make things happen fairly quickly, but at the same time, it looks as if the ship is starting to sink. Losing to ISU isn't a good sign, yet, Bill Evans has started to get things turned around in Poky. Definitely helps having Weber as a travel partner, since all the teams are gunning for the Cats and aren't preparing to much for the Bengals. Hey, the more the Bengals win the easier things can get for the Cats. Teams will have to split their time preparing for both teams.

Tal, I gotta believe most teams are preparing more for the Bengals than the Wildcats on the theory they at least want to get a split on the road trip, and beating ISU is by far their best shot. Sac and ISU are very much alike -- not big, perimeter-oriented teams that play pretty good defense. Neither team has a bench (at halftime last night, neither team's bench had scored a point). Dylan Garrity, Sac's outstanding PG, picked up two fouls in the first two minutes of the game and had to sit a good deal. He didn't do much of anything throughout the game. Mikh McKinney, their 2G, is a good player, had a 12-point first half, and of course John Dickson could play for anybody in the league (19 points, 11 boards last night). Veteto, their big guy, had a bad night, fouled out and didn't get much accomplished. He'd been playing pretty well coming in.

You should beat Sac handily tomorrow night.

On to Sacramento State!!!!! I thought the NAU game was a good game for our team. NAU really played hard and made it interesting for a while. Im curious to see how they do up at ISU tomorrow night. Back to Ball Sac State!!!! Im very surprised they lost to ISU. I had them 3rd in my last power ratings. If I had to pick a 3rd place team now, I would have to pick MSU, but that will probably change again. Its going to be interesting to see who finishes 3rd in the conference this year. I have a feeling Sac State is feeling pretty bad about loosing at the buzzer to the potatoes. I think they are going to come out flat and lethargic tomorrow. So I think Weber is going to curb stomp them big time tomorrow night. The only player that I think can give us fits is Dickson, but other than him Im not worried at all. Weber win big and I mean BIG 87 59.

Unfortunately, I will miss this game. I'll be watching from my hotel room on BigSkyTV, after running a 1/2 marathon. I promis to yell at my lap top. :-D

I made sure that my seats went to some future Wildcats! :thumb:

What 1/2 marathon are you running? Hope it's somewhere warm.

I ran in the St George 1/2 narathon this morning. It's really nice down here. The sun is out and the temps are in the 50s. I only finished 4th in my age group, but I ran a little faster than I thought I would. Now, if the cats can pull off a big win this evening, my day will be complete.

Go Wildcats!!!

Boy I sure hope we was just tired tonight cause we played like absolute crap tonight, give credit to Sac though, they took us out of our game plan and forced us into bad situation, man that NAU/Sac road trip is gonna be tough, but lets not get too ahead of ourselves, we have a HUGE 4 road game stand coming up against some really tough competition, Montana had to go into overtime to beat the Bobcats tonight so we know both of those games are gonna be tough.

Great crowd tonight by the way, 6,654. That's more like it. You can really tell they wanted to get loud, and they did at certain times. Still need more people to come and check this team out.

Sac is better than they have been there is no denying that, their guards are fast and athletic, you can tell they came to play.

Weber better start playing better if we want to come out of Montana with 2 wins.

GO WEBER

Tres was the player of the game last night. Down the stretch he made some key baskets down low and got some big offensive rebounds, not to mention the blocked shot on the defensive end.
Sac St ran a very interesting offense. Spread the floor (the old 4-corners) and let Garrity drive to the basket off of a series of on ball screens.
Was nice to have a liitle noise and excitement in the Dee at crunch time, but I'll still take the 15-20 point blowout.

That swat at the end was amazing!

Overall 4 wins in 10 days
3 wins this week!!!!

Not exactly what I predicted, but I will take any win anytime. I give lots of credit to Sacramento State. They played great. Garrity is one tough player. They ran that same high screen for him and he ate us up big time. Im not looking forward to the game at the hornet nest. Im wondering if our guys were a little tired after playing 3 games in like 7 days. I listened to the post game and Coach Rahe said lots of the guys are a little banged up. He said Otis has been sore and that Berry hurt his wrist. I saw Wheelright limping around too. I hope we can get some rest and be ready for 2 tough games in Montana. YIKES!!!! Im glad we got the win, but it wasn't pretty. Tresnak was the MVP. Bamforth played well too. I thought the crowd was great other than the student section. Weber State has what 30,000 students and about 50-75 show up? Its embarrassing. Who is the Student Body President? How about all the other student leaders? Its not like we have a crappy team. We are undefeated and still no students. Oh well they are missing out We had our little alumni group cheering and we were way better than the students. LOL. On to the Montanas!!!!!!!!!! Come on WEBER!!! Beat those WANKS!!

Two things are obvious to me, after this game. Sac has dangerous talent, and Weber needs to get its edge back.

Hopefully, they can work up a little chip on their shoulder by Thursday. :thumb:
