Sacramento State is a tough team to figure out, but it’s alway a tough place to play. It will be interesting to see if the Wildcats can build off their hot shooting last game.

I didn’t see the game. Just checking updates on the phone...thought it was heading to overtime...must have been pretty crappy. Keep an eye out on the officials bank accounts after that one.

It’s times like this I wish Weber State would make a big push to try and join the MWC for basketball only since Hawaii joined the Big West.

Oh well, hate to see the Wildcats outshoot the opponent and lose due to the offensive boards, playing without Harding, and a bogus call.

Might as well rest up everybody. Hell, I’d play four players the next two games just to piss off the conference office.

Pretty sad, I don't even watch the games anymore. Just don't care enough to. Weber lost again after leading the entire game. Shocking!! Out Rebounded, give up 14 offensive boards, can't stop dribble penetration, Chuck a bunch of 3s, play hero ball when you only need a 2, and get eaten alive by an average big man. Did we change our defense? Did we adjust our offense? Nope... Yes, it's totally bull shit that a foul is called with a second to go but that game never should have been close. I wouldn't doubt that Randy's salary is equal to the entire Sac State Basketball Budget. They play in a freaking Stake Center and our talent is head and shoulders above theirs and we lose. But, we are designing the program to go Sweet 16. Merely hoping for a good showing in the conference tournament at this point. Forget about the Dance. Can't even remember last time we went. I'm at a loss as to why a coach gets rewarded for under-performing and mediocrity. But that's what we do best. #justenough

Watched the whole game. We came out hot and built a nice lead. You knew we couldn't stay that hot though. The second half I had that sinking feeling that if we didn't do something different, it was the kind of game you lose at the end. The call was horrid. The lead ref went to watch it and you could tell he wanted to do something as you just don't make a rebound foul call to decide a game with 1 second to go. But he couldn't do anything. If DG Nelson, the ref that made the call, is the same DG Nelson who is baseball coach at SLCC, one shouldn't doubt a deep arrogance and general stupidity. And he should never ref another NCAA game.

However ... we never should have been in that position. We desperately needed to get inside the paint on offense in the second half. We desperately needed to shut down their drives and double down on their post guy when he got the ball and see if he could pass out of a trap. We just don't do that. Another game of playing fully engaged for one half. And kind of a season-defining game as well.

I typically have the games on but find myself not paying close attention. The style of play and of course edgy coaching is just not very engaging. It's true they never should have been in a position at the end for a last second call to matter; the many reasons they were have nothing to do with the officiating.

You say "our talent is head and shoulders above theirs" and I question this and all the other similar statements I continue to hear about how much more talented Weber is than the rest of the conference. If they are so talented as individual players, shouldn't they be doing better playing in a non-team system, playing to their talent and strength? Maybe the supposed superior individual talent doesn't mean much when the games' success-- at least in the BSC-- is still very much dependent on team talent, fundamental play and competent coaching/teaching? Anyway, it drives me crazy to keep hearing how the better, most talented team in the conference lost again; it doesn't make sense, especially as the losses keeping piling up. Maybe it will make more sense to me come tournament time, in Boise.

I kind of stopped believing the “this team has so much talent” line when UVU came in to the Purple Palace and handed the Wildcats their asses to them. UVU was trash talking to them, and they pretty much just took it.

Give me a workhorse over a show horse any day. Talent doesn’t mean a thing without desire and work ethic...and it’s even worse with no coaching help.

And I didn’t see the final play of the game. Was there a play called? Usually Harding dribbles way too much time off and then dribbles into a crowd or chucks up a three pointer. Did this happen again...only with another player? If so, why doesn’t Rahe call plays?

Well, the final play was a 1 second, 3pt heave, but the the previous play (that the rebounding call was made on) was another 3pt shot. If I remember correctly, a fairly deep, center 3 attempt by Barnes(I think). The shot was hurried in my opinion and I don't remember there being any passing first but to be honest, I wasn't paying very close attention. I don't think Harding played, but it's really sad I don't know for sure because I was paying that much attention!

The last play was Cody John dribbling the clock out at the top of the key for 7 seconds, then Chapman came to set a pick, then John decided to chuck a deep hero-ball three.

Then a Sac St player got bumped trying to get the rebound and was awarded 2 free throws despite being 94 feet from the basket.

That is like four or five games with a chance to win with no designed play called. Hero ball has really paid off! Probably glad I didn’t see it or the foul, I would been even more ticked off than I was.

Even Sac State’s announcer sounded ashamed by the call.

But it shouldn’t have been that close in the first place I suppose.
