Pretty sad, I don't even watch the games anymore. Just don't care enough to. Weber lost again after leading the entire game. Shocking!! Out Rebounded, give up 14 offensive boards, can't stop dribble penetration, Chuck a bunch of 3s, play hero ball when you only need a 2, and get eaten alive by an average big man. Did we change our defense? Did we adjust our offense? Nope... Yes, it's totally bull shit that a foul is called with a second to go but that game never should have been close. I wouldn't doubt that Randy's salary is equal to the entire Sac State Basketball Budget. They play in a freaking Stake Center and our talent is head and shoulders above theirs and we lose. But, we are designing the program to go Sweet 16. Merely hoping for a good showing in the conference tournament at this point. Forget about the Dance. Can't even remember last time we went. I'm at a loss as to why a coach gets rewarded for under-performing and mediocrity. But that's what we do best. #justenough
I typically have the games on but find myself not paying close attention. The style of play and of course edgy coaching is just not very engaging. It's true they never should have been in a position at the end for a last second call to matter; the many reasons they were have nothing to do with the officiating.
You say "our talent is head and shoulders above theirs" and I question this and all the other similar statements I continue to hear about how much more talented Weber is than the rest of the conference. If they are so talented as individual players, shouldn't they be doing better playing in a non-team system, playing to their talent and strength? Maybe the supposed superior individual talent doesn't mean much when the games' success-- at least in the BSC-- is still very much dependent on team talent, fundamental play and competent coaching/teaching? Anyway, it drives me crazy to keep hearing how the better, most talented team in the conference lost again; it doesn't make sense, especially as the losses keeping piling up. Maybe it will make more sense to me come tournament time, in Boise.
