No brainers IMO. Well deserved and great job! Now keep this up all season long. :thumb:

OGDEN, Utah — Sacramento State sophomore Garrett Safron and junior Edgar Castaneda were both named ROOT SPORTS Football Players of the Week by the Big Sky Conference, it was announced today.

Well deserved! Congrats. :thumb:

Safron is light years better than he was last year and the pressure Castaneda must have been feeling knowing our kicking history and 47,000 screaming fans must of been overwhelming. Ice in them veins, baby!

Does anyone else remember the thread from last year where Cataneda actually posted on here?

Then, FamousBaller chimed in talking about how he had just seen Castaneda play and that he had all kinds of mechanical issues and that he had no business thinking he was DI ready or something along those lines? Lol... God I have to find that thread.

Found it!

========================================

I saw this guy live on saturday vs Butte. He warmed up well with some impressive kicks but he has poor mechanics which sure enough came back to haunt him. He had 3 low PATs blocked and he missed one short FG. He also made a few kicks but his KOs were ordinary and he doesn't look very athletic.

Diniz is bigger, stronger and has better mechanics than Castaneda. Plus our kicker has already gained valuable experience at the D-1AA level which will only add to his success rate.

Go Hornets!
